MMMonday for myself today, I really like this razor and it will deliver a DFS range most of the time. Winter is hard on my skin this time of the year with our river frozen solid (lost our humidity creator) in the month of Jan with temperatures in the the minus -20 to -30 degrees Celsius or -15 degrees F average with my indoor Humidity gauge reading 33-36. My skin is dry along with dryer tougher whiskers to shave IMO. But the Gem Micromatic Flying wing or MMBT or Guiding eye..... did it's job with one of the greatest Blades known to man.

Razor : Gem MicroMatic Flying wing or MMBT or MM guiding eye...- MFG 1947-50
Blade: GEM Personna SS PTFE (9)
Soap : Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandal wood (TOBS)(Very nice scent)
    Brush : Razorock Plissoft
Pre-shave : Brush wash the face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Proraso Red Sandal wood lotion with witch hazel + Nivea balm.
    Results :CCS,DFS,BbS + no irritation + no weepers= [IMG]

Shave of the day on January 19th, 2020

Saturday the woman turned 40, the celebrations on a great day are over, "everyday life" is coming.

    The following was used:

Razor: Rockwell 6S with plate 4
    Blade: Qball
    Soap: Ach.Brito Mogno
    Brush: Shavemac 23397
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva

So today there were 3 premieres. The Qball, the Mogno and the Aqua Velva.

I wanted a razor that I can rely on blindly, my dearly loved Rockwell 6S was used again.

This time I wanted to test the Qball; it was not a mistake. A very good blade, which is pleasantly gentle and smooth but also has sufficient sharpness. Highly recommended at Rockwell.

Mogno also had its premiere today. The scent is really absolutely gorgeous. While the brush was allowed to soak, the soap was briefly soaked in warm water.

Lathering was very good and a great foam was created. The scent then came out more clearly. Great!!!

A very good lubricating film on the skin, as well as very good skin protection. The care also seems to be fine, even if there was a minimal tingling sensation on the skin in the second pass when the foam was applied. But I put that on my irritated skin, which draws attention to itself through the stress at work. In the third round everything was fine again.

Extinguished with the pleasantly scented Aqua Velva. I like this water a lot better than my Aqua Velva Ice Blue. The scent is "rounder' as the Ice Blue for me. So does the care.

    Overall, an extremely good shave.

Habe a great time, enjoy your shaves and take care. SotD 19.01.2020 Forum.JPG

Really nice picture/setup. I have the Tuckaway that I had rhodium plated. I am breaking out my Sheraton tomorrow for this week. My first DE shave for the year.

This is only the second time I’ve shaved with this stubless skinny old lady. I bought it as I wanted a razor from the late 1700s and this appears to be from that time period (maybe early 1800s.) It’s very crude and primitive. @gssixgun cautioned me when he honed it that it would never shave like a top tier vintage razor. He was right. Today’s shave approached a DFS after three passes and touch ups. But, the age beats the quality for attraction as it’s not every day you can use a razor that’s been around this long. :happy036:

PS - if anyone has a clue about the markings, please let me know. It came to me from France.

    Hot water preparation
    Argan Oil PSO
    T&H Wellington Super Badger
Frankensoap (odds and ends melted down)
Stubless no tail skinny old lady 4/8
    Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

    ●1914\Gem stainless
    ●Schick Protector foam

Great shave, 2 pass BBS, followed by WH/ Barbasol Brisk

Found an unused can of this foam at a resale shop. Travel sized. Says made in Germany so I'd never heard of it before but it easily rivals Barbasol foam, seems a bit more moist. Excellent stuff, wouldn't mind having more but probably won't turn up again.

The '14 is my only remaining SE but the stops are worn, gonna have to replace it.
