Now that I've completed my NB '21......the Blackland Titanium Blackbird has been the only safety razor that's tickled the purchase process restart. Shane's mentioned they may be restocked soon....I'm already watching the BSTs....

No time to hunt it down but I owned the SS and was okay with it but not a favorite. Kept reading everyone say the Titanium was softer face feel and amazing. I thought that was nuts and hype as I didn't see how the difference in metal could be that different other than weight. Some one generously loaned me theirs to try and I was blown away by the difference and immediately bought one which I used today actually. That was what I said in a nutshell. Hope you find one or they get released soon. Got mine off the BST with good timing. Cheers

Lather: Proraso Sensitive Shaving Cream.
Blade: Sunny Supreme Stainless. (D2)

Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./ Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Wilko Men's Moisturiser./Denim Original EdT.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

Another maiden shaving using the Proraso Sensitive shaving cream which like it's 'Play Doh' like shaving soap sibling created an acceptable lather in a short space of time leaving a good post shave feel.
A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a few small squirts of Denim Original EdT to the pulse points.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Smoother than silk - and my wife told me that I smell like espresso coffee and peppermint when she kissed me this morning. That’s exactly what this soap and aftershave smell like - the scent is so beautiful. The soap is tallow based, it lathers like a dream, there’s lots of slickness, the menthol sensation is pretty strong especially on the second and third passes, and the skincare is awesome. Thanks to the Prep my face felt so well moisturized as well as soothed, and the Peppermint Latte aftershave has the same lovely scent as the soap, there’s no burning or stinging because it’s witch hazel based, and there’s a ton of menthol in it. What a brilliant shave this was!

first of all: Happy New Year to everyone. All my best wishes. Stay safe and healthy.

My first shave of the new year is in the books. Here is what I’ve used.


Razor: PAA Prismatic // Blade: Gillette Bleue Extra // Soap: Chiseled Face Midnight Stag // Brush: Deer Synthetic 22mm // Aftershave: Milton Lloyd The Man Cobalt

Today has been the first shave with the Prismatic. Is it good will you ask? Definitely yes. It is very gentle, thoroughly and has a lot of audible feedback.

In combination with the blade, which guarantees always a great shave, the shave went drama-free in 3 relaxed passes.

Chiseled Face…why have I waited so long to get a soap from them? I don’t know. The lather is whipped up very fast, the lather is VERY slick and protective. The scent is special and not everyone’s cup of tea. It smells like fuel, leather and oil. Fun scent. Not to wear if you are working in an office or when you have a date, but when you know that you will stay home or you just take a walk outside…here you are.

The brush-handle was a gift from a friend of mine. Deer horn. I was speechless when this arrived. I ordered a Plissoft Synthetic knot in 22mm from Maggard’s to set it in there. Fabulous!!!

The EdT is a dupe of the vintage Dior Fahrenheit. I do not know the vintage version, only the actual version, but if the vintage smelled almost like this…wow. Matches the soap nearly perfect.

It has been a great great shave.

The START Shave Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Today's shave's report card and final commentary:

GOOD NEWS:

-I remembered to do the 2nd pass this time (what DID happen yesterday, y'know?)
-No cuts
-Nice paint job all around with the Clubman brush
-I went back to go over misses before closing
-Clean, fresh feeling all over

BAD NEWS:

-appearance of a red polkadot, painless, but you could see it.



OUTTA THIS WORLD EXCELLENT.
