It’s your shave - do it the way you want my friend!

I personally wouldn’t use an electric but I know a lot of guys who swear by them.

    Thursday morning:

    L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Gillette Platinum day 2
    Mickey Lee Paradise Frost SS
    Prep ASB
    Floid Vigoroso AS Splash

This Paradise Frost soap has been sitting around here for such a long time so I decided to pull it out this morning and I’m so happy that I did. It’s tallow based, it has a lovely refreshing citrusy scent, thick, rich lather with plenty of slickness, and a mild but pleasant menthol sensation as well as pretty good skincare. The Prep gave me a wonderful, cooling, moisturizing and soothing feeling while the Floid Vigoroso aftershave delivered its delightful scent along with a terrific menthol punch. Smooth as silk from three passes!

Have a good day - be well and safe!

    Cold Water Rinse
Shannon's Soaps Indigo Oud Shave Soap
    Jayaruh #313 2-band Badger
    Treet SE
    Personna GEM SS PTFE
    CWR
    Pinaud Classic Vanilla AS

The Shannon's Soaps Indigo Oud Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #313 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Treet SE Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Classic Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This is my first shave with this soap. It was piffed to me by a fellow wet shaver in Hawaii. It is a great performer. This from Shannon's Soaps website describing the Indigo Oud Shave Soap.

Sultry and exotic, Indigo Oud starts with a spicy base of vanilla, sandalwood, and oud, adds warm leather, tobacco, and ambergris, and is topped off with lively black currant and bergamot. The end result will put you in a mood for far-off adventure or contemplative bliss, depending on your predisposition. Either way, you're in for a unique, third-eye-opening shaving experience.

Razor: Yaqi V2 "Tile" 316 SS razor head with a Yaqi handle, Mfg 2021> mild razor with a Standard Gillette blade, Kai SS blade bumps it to a mid range, close shave this morning, starting to dial this new razor in, I can apply some pressure with no issues and performs well. Tried J hooking with no issues + Gillette slide with no issues + buffing no issues = good mild razor with a Astra blade is my conclusion. The V2 "Tile" is a better machined QC razor than the V1 "Tile" razor head .
Blade: Gillette Astra SP(3) Excellent blade, sharp & smooth with great longevity. Excellent cost per shave $.01-.03 cents!
Soap: Razorock Lavender [IMG] (Discontinued) nice mid range masculine scent of lavender + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Robin 24mm boar brush, excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle hairs, great scrub + excellent painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera Gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Ach Brito Lavanda with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS, DFS, BBS + no irritation + no weepers = [IMG]excellent shave with my Yaqi Tile SS razor with a Gillette Astra SP.

As a scent L'Occitane Eav des Bavx punches way above it's weight in terms of price to quality ratio. There are scents costing 3 times as much as that aren't as good smelling. Your bang for buck on this is very high.

Yep! Completely concur. It’s one of the main points almost every reviewer talks about in its favor.

    First time Arko shave

    Soap: Arko stick
Brush: Made Rite handle with APShave Co 2BED knot
    Razor: 1956 Gillette blue tip
    Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (Germany)
    After: CeraVe cream

There has been so much discussion about Arko that I just had to try it. As my custom title suggests, I pretty much stick with unscented soaps because most fragrances irritate my face. But I decided I would give this one a try in the name of science!

    Impressions:

Wow! that's a strong smell! My first impression was that Arko reminds me of the smell when I walk down the aisle of janitorial cleaning products at the Home Depot store. Not a bad smell, just strong and industrial. My wife's impression of the smell was that it is just a strong, clean, soapy smell.

The soap face-lathered easily and gave a decent lather without much effort. The fragrance when lathered was different from the smell of the soap itself. Not unpleasant, just strong like cleaning products.

Quality of the lather was pretty good, but not as good as my favorite soaps, Sterling on the tallow side or Sudsy Soapery on the veggie side. Cushion and glide were decent, but not the best. Post shave was decent, but not the best.

My face seems OK so far. By comparison, when I tried Tabac, red spots appeared on my face after each shave. I don't think I will push my luck by using this soap frequently.

Overall, not bad, but I would like it better if the fragrance was significantly lighter.

By comparison, I actually like the light soapy fragrance of Williams soap and it doesn't bother my face. I just wish the William's lather lasted longer. I feel like I cheat a bit when I use Williams because I add a small pump of Kiss My Face cream to the mix -- that produces an excellent, long-lasting lather with the William's slickness and light fragrance.

That's similar to what was said by a Clubman reviewer-words to the effect "Other companies with much more expensive brands than Clubman try to match it, and they just can't do it".
