ASRazor shave, Tuesday, January 10th 2023

Razor : Ever-Ready 1914, Mfg 1914-17, mid range, similar way of loading blades like the ASR 1912 models but blade tensioner spring is slightly different configured, well built. Excellent audio feedback while shaving, one of my favorite ASR razors and very enjoyable shave.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (5) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest razor blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Emperor(new addition), nice scented soap but Emperor aftershave is very good(Creed Aventis cloned?) + excellent lather qualities. Very happy with the Razorock line of soaps & splashes mostly + affordable.
Brush : Yaqi "mountain lake" 24mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, great splay scrubber + great lather painter. Very nice brush handle + enjoyable experience.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Emperor splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Ever-Ready 1914 with a coated Gem blade.
Did a good job considering I had a very close shave yesterday, I thought maybe match results, but almost as close.

Goodness...the extra e.

 

As you can see from this angle, there is no support for the leading edge of the blade. It is the friction of the blade carrier along with the magnets that keeps the blade in place.

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #199 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Enders Speed Shaver and the Schick Proline B-20 Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

All I can say about this Delftse Donderslag soap is WOWWWWWW!!!!!! It’s an artisan soap from the Netherlands that I received yesterday along with a bunch of other lovely goodies. The scent of this one is really gorgeous - it’s an exotic, Oriental type with spicy notes, (at least to my nose) the lather explodes off the brush, there’s LOTS of slickness as well as great cushion, and it seems to be very skin friendly. I’ll post a review of it later on today. The De Vergulde Hand balm is another Dutch classic - the scent is also a delight, and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing. The Proraso Red aftershave smells so delicious but it never fouls up any fragrance that I wear. All in all another cracking good three pass BBS shave that was great fun!

Razor : Razorock 2nd Generation Lupo.72- MFG Jan 2021>, excellent mid range, well designed and manufactured from 316 stainless steel, excellent machining and finish QC, easy to shave in the nostril area for mustache folks + a easy going shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette silver blue (3) sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Emperor, nice unique scent with excellent lather qualities. New addition and match up for my RR Emperor AS that I really enjoy a few yrs later but it was worth it. Bought it on their great sale recently!
Brush : Yaqi " Black marble" 24mm silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, nice gentle scrubber + excellent painter. The handle feels good in the hand and right length for this big bloomed badger brush. I do not think synthetic brushes can match or make or give the different face feel like a big bloomed brush like a badger silvertip IMO.
