It’s been quite a while since I used my Wilkinson Sword DE so I thought it would be a good idea to pull it today and load it with a new 7 AM blade. Truthfully, this razor is excellent although it’s somewhat more aggressive than my Super Speed and my other razors. Fernando’s Peppermint Lime soap and aftershave are heavenly - such a gorgeous scent which is a very refreshing combination of peppermint and lime, it’s tallow based, the lather is MAGNIFICENT, it gives so much slickness, there’s a ton of menthol, and it’s so skin friendly. The Gold Bond moisturizer is a terrific balm, and the Peppermint Lime aftershave is witch hazel based - no burning or stinging, it’s frigidly cold, and its scent pairs so nicely with the Eau Sauvage fragrance which I love. Three passes gave a super duper, effortless BBS shave that I really enjoyed.

The Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #446 Boar/Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Burham Safety Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

ASRazor shave, MMMonday, January 22 2024. Any ASR brand or GEM razor that uses a Gem Blade is welcomed 7days a week!

Razor : Ever-Ready 1914,1st generation blade stops- Mfg 1914-17, mid range to upper mid range. Very well built razor, it was also called little lather catcher(AKA-LLC). The 1914 delivers a excellent shave and the audio feed back is very enjoyable & has been my delight. This razor was used by soldiers during WW1 and countless civilians also. Had a excellent close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna PTFE(9) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer rapier, very nice scented soap, some claim it is similar to Aramis classic cologne but it does not last as long + excellent lather qualities. Master soap creations was commissioned & makes Yaqi line of soaps and splashes.
Brush : Yaqi "Robin" 24mm boar bristle hair, Excellent lather generator, soft split end boar bristle, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi Musketeer rapier splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-ready 1914 with a coated Gem blade. I always get decent shaves with my 1914 with a blade that has a high usage I have experienced.

I received this razor some time ago from a board raffle (I think) and used it once then put it away in its case. Not something I would have purchased BUT find it to be fully serviceable and a pretty good shaver. Paired with the Suneko blade, it worked well. I like the Suneko blades, their good for me. Not sure if I"ll continue using the Yaqi brush though, it's pretty dense and I don't care for dense brushes. Maybe it will loosen up with use. But it sure is pretty. The More 4 You SS is a must if you like Arko. Works as well, smell the same and comes in a bigger container. So, my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.
