The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #458 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Goodwill Razor razor and the PolSilver DE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This is the original version of Karo Fresh which is a very cheap cream from Bulgaria. To be honest this is NOT one of the better creams from there - it smells decent I guess, it gives excellent lather but although it contains menthol it has just a very slight cooling effect and it leaves my skin feeling rather dry. Thank goodness for the Gold Bond moisturizer because it took good care of my postshave needs, and the Skin Bracer aftershave smells wonderful - not only that, it has a terrific menthol kick. Overall a good three pass BBS shave - no complaints at all.

SE SOTD, Tuesday, January 14th 2025

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP open comb SE with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2024>, mid range with a fresh Feather blade Yaqi provided (I like Kai CTMP blades better). The razor performed well and has slightly more blade feel than the Yaqi Romulus straight bar variant IMO.
Blade : Feather AC (1) very sharp with reason longevity. Whiskers did not stand a chance!
Soap : Razorock The Deep Sea , very nice sharp clean unique scent that is addictive + has excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Mysterious space" 24mm Timber wolf knot. Excellent knot and handle for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + 2 small weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my New Yaqi Romulus OC razor with a Feather blade.

Here my Shave of the Day (15.01.2025)


Razor: Fatip Lo Storto // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: SV Felce Aromatica // Brush: Omega 10098 // Aftershave: L´Erbolario Ginepro Nero

After a looooong time, it was about time using my Fatip Lo Storto again. A gentle and smooth little shaver, which gave me a BBS Shave in 2 passes plus light touch ups.

The brush lathered up luxurious lather in no time. With Felce Aromatica this should be no problem though…

After rinsing my face the absolutely wonderful Ginepro Nero took care of my skin and pampered it. Outstanding stuff.

A 10 out of 10

BTW, my own Lo Storto always gives me trouble lining up the blade evenly, I believe that is a problem for some.

 

thank you Chris.that no.77 of yours is nickel plated,the only rfb that's nickel plated as far as i know. all the prewar ones are silver plated..if you notice on the inside of the cap there is a crease along the pin line..that means that your cap is the same as a flat bottom tech and post war tech up to 1950 ish..you should be able to find a clean cap relatively easy..any 2 pin cap without at etched logo will do.. any cap will work in a pinch ,even a single long pin one.

 

I don't remember having any issues with my Lo Storto. I know slants sometimes tighten down with a different feel than standards do.
