Friday Evening 24/01
Razor : Gillette Aristocrat 1946 (first version of this model)
Blade : Gillette Nacet (1).
Brush : B&B Synthetic Chubby.
Soap : Catie's Bubbles (Le Marche Du Rasage).
Balm/Toner : TN Dickinson's Witch Hazel.
Weight : 66 grams.
Hi all,
A good shave tonight with the Gillette Aristocrat I won't say its the best shave from a Gillette TTO.
In my opinion they still had a way to go in this area if your into Gillette's its shave similar to a regular
40s to 50s Super Speed (mildish).
So with this in mind I loaded it with a Nacet blade and yes their very sharp.
One pass WTG and ATG and a bit of a touch up Done.
I had a bit of skin irritation after I think this was because its a milder razor with a very sharp blade and trying
to get smoother close shave (trying a bit to hard).
The Witch Hazel fixed me up in no time.
the Catie's Bubbles soap was good and the scent is very nice.
Only thing was the lather didn't last long on my face.
All in all another descent shave.

Razor : Yaqi The final cut adjustable. Mfg 2021> tame mid range to upper mid range IMO. Even on setting #1 it has slightly blade feel but very manageable for most folks.Same idea as the French Gibbs design that works well.
Blade : Gillette Polsilver SI (6) sharp and smooth, with great longevity.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Club casino's" 26mm timber wolf knot. Small batch with the timber wolf knot that is on of my favorites.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Alum tested with Nivea refreshing AS + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 small chin weeper= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi TFC with a Polsilver SI blade.

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent bar Soap.
Brush: Semogue 1250.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Cella Crema Da Barba.
Blade: Amazon Solimo. (D2)
Razor: Baili BD191.

Post:
Cold Water face rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Denim Original ASL./Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

Here my Shave of the Day (26.01.2025)


Razor: TGS Syntesi // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: Valobra Mandorla // Brush: Shavemac // Aftershave: Witch Hazel - CH Pitralon

A great shave. The razor is very smooth and gentle and gave me a BBS shave in 2 passes plus minor touch up on one spot. The Soap had tons of glide and cushion and it was very easy for the Shavemac lathering it up. The Pitralon had minor feedback.

It was very relaxed.

10 out of 10

The GZD Berber Stick lathered well with Jayaruh #460 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1907 Gem Jr. Lather Catcher razor and the Personna Gem Stainless PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD, Sunday, January 26th 2025

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316 SSP open comb with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP Handle. Mfg 2024>, tame mid to middle mid range depending on blade used. Excellent machining, finish and simple clamping design makes for nimble shaving.
Blade : Kai Captain mild pink(2) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity. Favorite AC blade for my Romulus SB & OC razors.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari " 24mm boar bristle knot. Very enjoyable brush to use and boar works very nicely for a change up.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber Amici with witch hazel (nice scent)+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my new Romulus OC razor with a Kai blade.
