The bursh is great. I got the 20mm in Best Badger. I wanted a smaller size since my WD silvertip is a 24mm. Whips up a lather super fast and easy and it didn't have that wet dog smell but more of a factory smell if you know what I mean by that. Anyways the smell went away after a few test lathers but of course YMMV

Today, I tried a few new things:
Some german lilac soap that I got as a freebie from shoebox shaving (new)
    Parker 90r
    Golden Nib Best Badger brush
Derby Extra (new blade and the first time I've used one)
VDH Deluxe soap (new puck) with a dollop of CO Bigelow cream (new technique for me)
Added M-bomb to my Nivea ASB (new combo).

Rich and creamy lather, smooth shave and that menthol goodness. Can't get much better.

    Merkur Futur Razor
    Merkur Futur Brush
    Supur Iridium Blade.
    Mikes Natural Coconut Soap
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    Tabac Aftershave
    Generic Pharmacy Moisturiser.

The tabac is apparantly not my cup of tea. The combination of this scent and what I now believe to be an expired/stale moisturiser make me reek like an old perfumed lady with blue hair. Not pleasant.
And the combination of blade and razor was not ideal. I cant quite put my finger on it, but something was not right here. It shaved just fine, but still...
I will switch the blade over to a different razor on my next shaving endeavour.

Tried face lathering today. I usually use a bowl for this, and still prefer it. But it was still interesting, and I will honour the this weeks theme as long as I am able.

Most stuff really. But mostly from various domestic webshops.
Locally, going into what I believe you would call a brick and mortar store, I can find soaps and creams from The Body Shop, L'Occitane, Proraso and Erasmic.

The webshops carry most stuff from TOOB, Trumper, Harris, Mama Bear and Proraso. To name just a few.

If you would like to brush up on your Norwegian, check out the vendor with the largest selection: http://www.barbershop.no/

When it comes to local artisan vendors, I only know of Fitjarsoaps.no

    • GFT ASL - Spanish Leather
This was another night shave. In keeping with this week's theme, I face lathered the Tabac. The DE89L is one of my most favorite modern razors. I have heard that he head of the razor is made by Muhle, but for some reason this head feels just slightly milder than the Muhle heads. Not 100% sure though. I don't really care for the EJ after shave balm. I find the sandalwood scent to be very sweet. However, it is very moisturizing and it provides excellent skin care. The GFT aftershave is unique in that it has a very dry, almost powdery finish. Three passes for an easy BBS. (And yes, I actually did put on aftershave before going to bed, LOL!)

    Cheers, Lyndon

I finally received my gold replated Gillette New OC! And it looks... well... new! :) I just love this OC head. It was Arley who put me on to a nice rhodium plated thin bar handled version of this razor. (Thanks Arley!) I couldn't believe how close and comfortable this razor was. I was thinking of replating this guy in Rhodium but the original color of the razor was gold so I decided to keep things the same.

The other day while using the HUGE Frank silvertip, I was thinking it might be very good with a hard soap like DR Harris. I was right. I gave the brush a good loading of soap and proceeded to face lather. The big Frank brush quickly whipped up an excellent lather which was thick and abundant. I will most definitely be using this brush more often with my soaps. The new duded up and decked out Gillette New was a real pleasure to use and the homemade menthol Nivea ASB and Barbon ASL provided a very frosty finish. :smiley freezing:

    Cheers, Lyndon
