tunes - Chuck Ragan; feast or Famine
pre - hot shower, soak brush/razor
    prep - TBS shave oil
    cream - C&E Nomad
    brush - TBS synthetic
    razor - Merkur HD 34C
    blade - Derby Extra
post - cold rinse, C&E Nomad AS

3 pass, W/X/ATG. oil & lather after each. probably my best DE shave to date (started about a month ago). the only reason I went for the ATG pass was the first two went sooo smooth and nice, I thought I'd go for it. I got a little blood and burn on my neck only on the immediate sides of my throat. this is probably because I spent some time touching these areas up. no cuts either. I definitely need an alum block or something. definitely not BBS, but a DFS for this newbie. man I love shaving :D

first, the brush; since my Kent boar hair broke and they havent replace it yet I need a shave and the only place I could find to get my hands ona brush was TBS. I dont particularly like the brush, but it lathers well. I mainly dont like how stiff it is and doesn;t work the lather into my face; it just kinda paints it around. I've heard they break in some if you;re rough with them, so we'll see what happens.

second, the TBS oil; i picked this up because they gave it me for half price price when I bought the brush, and I tihnk I really like the stuff! the jury is still out on whether it's the addition of the oil, my lathering technique getter better or the blade; maybe all three, but man this shave was better than any to date for me.

the blade; second shave with it and it's probably my favorite so far; compared to the Merkur super and a Personna Platinum.

did I mention I'm really loving this DE wetshaving thing? hee hee :D

A high level DFS today, even though I went for BBS with extra passes. Got BBSs out of this blade on the 1st 2 shaves. I like a blade that is great on day one and doesn't need a break-in shave (like Feathers). I will call this a 3 shave blade for me.

Alright everyone....todays shave was literally the BEST shave I have had YET in my 1 & 1/2 year venture into wetshaving....today I had TSD Sub Zero....and Voskhod blades as firsts....the SZ is amazing and the Voskhods gave me a lick away from BBS...

    Post Shave-Hot water face wash
    Razor-Merkur 34c
    Blade- Voskhod
    Brush-Col. Conk 904
    Mug-Gentlemens Regiment Mug
Post Shave-Aqua Velva Ice Blue/Nivea ASB

Smoothest my face has ever been!! And the soap smells terrific!! For the first time ever my wife looked at me after smelling my shave and gave me "the eyes" lmao (she usually does not care for most my shave scents) but today was a different story...

This my friends is an aphrodisiac in the form of a shave....lol

    Altesse Badger
    Pacific Natural shave cream
    Master Bay Rum
    Drakkar Noir

Decent shave save for one small nick where I got careless around my jawline. The shave was a little rough so I took it to the barber hone for some touch up work. Next shave with this razor should be much smoother.

Lazy Saturday morning, slept in as I have to close the restaurant tonight/tomorrow morning.

Started off this beautiful day with a pot of coffee; same as the rest of the week: World Market Coasta Rician.
    On to the shave...

    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Voskhod
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Soap: MWF
    Post: DVH AS
Accessories: thought I would join in the "theme of the week" by adding a duck. This particular duck I borrowed from my son who is due to arrive in about 6 weeks or so.

    Ask and you shall receive....;)
    Saturday....Arm-Pit Shave
    Hot Shower
Arko SC applied to a wet Omega 10029 Baby-Pro
    1938 Gillette Senator/Derby Extra (Day3)
    Cold Water Rinse

Hadn't shaved the 'pits' all winter...had a Sasquach thing happening...During the summers I like beaches and swimming daily, therefore I'm not new to Arm-pit shaving. But this combo left my 'pits' BBS with one quick WTG pass, I couldn't believe it!...TWO big things come to mind....ONE: Don't let anyone tell you that Derby's aren't sharp....TWO: The Open Comb does excel on longer hair, as some have said....But then this razor excels at everything, including daily whisker length hair aswell...:) I've never had the 'pit-hair' just roll off so easy, to leave such smooth, polished skin under-neath....The wife is going to dig this...;)

    Saturday....Face Shave
Prep: Hot water rinse/Arko SC face lathered/let sit for 2 minutes/Hot water rinse
    Lather:Arko Shave Stick/Arko SC
Razor: 1938 Gillette Senator One-Piece Razor
    Blade: New Perma-Sharp Super
Post: Cold water rinse/Arko-Nem moisturizer/Arko Aqua AS splash

After the 'Pit Shave' I thought about continueing with that Derby, but couldn't handle the thought...
So I tossed the Blade (responsibly)...and took my razor cleaning tooth brush, loaded with whitening tooth-paste, and gave this lovely Senator a great cleaning....Rinsed her off...(shining so hard, I almost needed sun-glasses, ;) and popped in a new Perma-Sharp Super.

I then rinse my face with Hot water, and put Shave Cream in wet brush and face lathered up a storm...I got a thick great lather going, and the brush is really massaging my face...Felt wonderful. Then it hits me...
I let it set for a couple minutes and then rinsed it off with very hot water...Then I applied the Arko Shave Stick to my whiskers for face lathering and the brush is already 'loaded' with SC from the previous lather. So I hit the face with that...add a touch more water and whip up a perfect Uber-lather...

Next...Just Unbelievable...One WTG pass, with a little 'skin-stretching' and I've got what 'Stingraysrock' would call a 'Board-Room' acceptable DFS....I am so happy with how smooth and effortless the whole process was...and how great my face looks and feels (looks great as in great shave...not as in Cary Grant, ha,ha,ha)...and once again I feel as though a blade has not touched my face....:happy108:

Have great shaves, and a great Saturday everybody!!

    Saturday
Hot Shower + Proraso Pre/Post Cream
    Merkur 37C + Bolzano
    Proraso Green
    Omega 10005 Boar Brush
Cold Water Rinse + Alum Stick + Old Spice Classic A/S

Fantastic Shave. I retired my Astra this morning after a week of graceful shaves from it, found a Bolzano sitting around in my tupperware container so I said "Why not", the last time was horrible but thought I'd revisit it - glad I did. 3 passes, BBS without any irritation, no bleeders, nicks, weepers or effort. Too bad they're far more expensive than my go to blades, they are nice but I don't feel like paying those prices LOL.

    Shower and shave after work.
Hot shower and scrub the face well.
Schick "G8" razor with Schick (Chinese) blade. This is the combo that sliced my upper lip bad about a week and a half ago.
35 year old Aramis badger brush that has just about fought its last battle
    VDH Premium soap
Ended with a 2 pass (WTG/ATG) DFS with 1 small weeper on my neck.
    Very happy
