Smooth as silk, smelling great, and ready to conquer the world is how I feel today after such a nice shave with my favorite DE, and this excellent Brazilian cream. Not only does the Bozzano Sensitive lather rich and thick, it has a fabulous menthol effect, and it's very soothing and protective. The Nord-ost balsam is also very cooling and comforting. ;) :D

Hadn't given that a thought, but not a bad idea. Today brought some success, as I can see thinning at the edge of the soap. Maybe another week or two, and I'll have freed up a new spot in the den.

Yep, its UGA alright. I bleed Red n' Black, and bark frequently. Might be one thing I am more passionate about than this little hobby. Counting down to signing day, G-Day, and Sept. will be here before we know it!

    Good morning ladies and gents!

Ok.....I had an epiphany this morning well, it was actually at work last night. I've been dwelling on the problems with the feather razor my wife bought me for Christmas. Not only was it an exspensive present, but 1 from the heart as well. So I've been beating myself up over the thought of selling it. So I got to thinking.
    My thoughts:
With the Feather AS-D1, I dont get a super close shave....however,I can do 2 to 3 maybe even 4 passes and suffer very little irritation. Now, if I do 2 to 3 passes with any other razor, I stand a strong chance of hating myself for it do to razor burn, bumps and the possible "plaining" off the tops of the bumps.
I can do 1 pass and only 1 pass against the grain with a gillette SS and have a near BBS with some irritation and bumps. I usually end up with some tugging on my neck when going against the grain resulting in some bumps and slight irritation.
Now, if I do 1 pass and only 1 pass against the grain with the Feather, I get no tugging and no bumps. I dont get the BBS shave, I get a SAS which='s a DFS in my book because
A: I enjoy my shave with no pain or blood or burn or.....
B: I get to use my Feather which my loving wife bought me and I really do like the looks and feel of it.
C: I can shave almost dry with this thing and not get any burn:) So my lather doesnt have to be perfection.

So, with all this in mind I decided to use the Feather this morning....
Pre shave: Washed face in hot water and smeared on some Proraso pre-shave
    Soap: Proraso green
    Blade: Shark super chrome
    brush: Omega Badger
    2 passes
    Post shave: Proraso AS Balm
    Results: DFSAS SHAVE!!!!
Sorry for rambling. Just had to put my thoughts on "paper"

There's a thread over on the TSR UK forum now regarding the Feather AS - D1 I myself shave with several different razor some mild some quite aggressive like the Feather AC - SS, and in regards to the Feather AS - D1 I haver never found it to be a mild shaver but it's not aggressive either, but it as a specific angle or sweet spot if you dont find it you will struggle with that razor, but on the other hand find the sweet spot then i'm not sure it will be beaten, I will give you the link and there's a few guys who use that razor on there and maybe you will rethink your approach to using it.

No way I would sell that razor. Heck, I do 3 pass shaves everyday no matter what razor I use. Experiment with many different blades. If my wife gave me something like that, I would hang it on the Christmas tree before I would sell it.

    Proraso Splash

I was going to go with MEM this morning, but I just needed to feel the chill of Proraso. I am love the menthol kick that I get from using it! I don't really feel too much from the splash though. I used to think that my face couldn't handle menthol, because of a tube of Derby menthol cream I had. It burned like no other; so I am glad I dropped the $5 on the tub of Proraso, because it feels GREAT!:happy108: In fact I will be placing an order for the M-Bomb that JoAnna did up, because I think I am hooked to the chill feeling! ;)

I am very pleased with the Feather Injector, it really is a beauty and keeps the brand image in a good light.

    Omega Professional Boar brush
    Cyril Salter Soap
    Gem Pushbutton razor
    Feather Auto-Strop blade

For the third shave on this blade, I'd read that these could be used in some of the later model Gems, even without the spine. Can't remember if I tried it before, but I've tried it now, and it works. In general, though, I'll save these blades for the cutout style Valet razors which need them.

Cyril Salter is my soap for all of this week. That brand may be better known for its cream, but I think the soap is one of the better seldom discussed bargains out there. That's assuming you just buy the refill, and don't spend extra to get it in a wooden bowl. Maybe it doesn't help that it comes in only one "flavor"; for the life of me I'm not sure if it's Lilac or Lavender. One of the L scents, and whatever it is, it's at a discreet level.
