Main thing is your hangin in there and its gettin better ! And I know about the edge Larry can put on a razor, WOW ! He lives about 45 minutes from me and has sharpened all but a couple of my straights, He's fabulous with his honing skills. Your cleanups will be limited to nothing in a very short time, and your honing skills will only get better ! Great Shaves to come my friend, Mark

No picture, might grab one tonight

    • Gillette Slim (set to 6 WTG, 3 XTG) loaded up with
    • NOS Gillette Bleue Extra with one shave under the belt, lubricated by
    • MWF (Kent Rebranded in wooden bowl) face lathered with
    • Muhle Pure Badger brush, and
    • Nivea Sensitive ASB to finish.

Just pure bliss this morning. Smooth, irritation free shaving which is simply a joy. No stryptic or alum required!!!!!

Finally have learned the skills to get MWF to work, and most of it is adding (and keeping) moisture in the puck. Also found a slightly wetter brush enhances the creamy pickup of soap onto the brush.

    - Astra SP (3.)
    - Calani 'Purissima' ASB

    Aramis EDT :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008

A great Turkish-style shave this morning. I guess the only things missing were the straight razor and the match and cotton. The Booster Mosswood aftershave feels and smells so good. ;) :D

    5/8 Lion Brand Razor
Gillette Red Tip with vintage Wilkinson (6)

    Arko Shave Stick
    Rudy Vey Finest

    Alum
    Superior 70 Bay Rum

Two WTG passes with the straight and a touch up with the red tip. The straight shave wasn't bad, but I still felt a bunch of stubble along the jawline. I could have lived with it, but two minutes with the Red Tip definitely helped finish me off.

At the risk of sounding redundant...another perfect shave from this Schick Injector...and it really is so easy it seems like cheating...

But I don't get it, I read where cats are saying their injector gives them great effortless shaves but not much fun...I think my injector is very, very fun...First off, getting great effortless shaves in itself is fun...The nostalgia factor is there, I mean my razor maybe as easy as a cartridge but the results are far superior, easily on a level with SE's and it was made in the mid-50's...The earlier Schicks shave just as good and little was changed all way back to the early 30's...My Dad was from the "Greatest Generation" and he always used a Schick...He was also issued a Schick in the Navy during WWII...So why do guys think the "Soulfulness" is lacking ?
I think shaving with my Schick is a blast in every aspect, and the shaves have never been better, or as consistant!! I'm really loving rubbing my face all day and finding the skin so smooth...but also so soft and irritation free...I'm so thankful to have been reunited with this wonderful type of shaving (injectors), and this razor in perticular...thanks again to "stingraysrock"/Jeff...

Late post for Mon. night shave:
    Face: NEW Standard w/ feather
    Head: Fatboy w/ IP
    Knotty Erlenmeyer
    Ingrams SC
    Alum
    Liquid Candy Cane Snowflakes

I often get a weeper or two the first day using a feather, which is why I don't use them often. This shave had a weeper on each jawline and a real nick on my chin. I haven't had a real nick in months! Mind you, I didn't feel it at all and otherwise had no irritation. Still, with all that menthol and being BBS after stoping the bleeding with a little alum it was a good shave.

I know what you are saying Lloyd. I love the shave that I get from my E2 Schick Injector and the nostalgia factor is definitely there (1935) and I personally like the unique look of it but, there's the rub. I think most of the time the "look" of it is what turns guys off. They are expecting the classic DE look and the hoe-type shape just doesn't ring the bell for them. This design style probably goes over better with SE shavers due to the similarity of the SE's hoe style shape. (I think the SE shape is the "missing link" between the Injectors and the DE's) Wow, I have to stop, my head is spinning with too much thinking without my first cup of coffee! LOL :D

Lloyd, you have inspired me to use the Schick this morning with your thoughtful comments. It is tragic that more don't give these great shavers a try. I guess this is another style of Shaving like the SE's that will always be under-appreciated. Outstandingly close and comfortable shave.
