Wednesday, January 26, 2011 Pre-shave Soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Merkur Progress XL Blade: Supermax Super Stainless Brush: Vulfix 2234 Cream: TOBS Shaving Shop A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Pre de Provence ASB Received a couple of weepers--I should have changed the blade. I normally get about 4 shaves from a Supermax Stainless, but this was the 6th. The 5th shave on this blade was excellent; it's interesting how things can change quickly when a blade passes its prime. The shave, if I ignore the weepers, was OK, not too bad, actually. The WH and PdP balm came to the rescue and left my face feeling good. No transfusions necessary.

AOS pre-shave oil (Not a fan of pre-shave oils...they gunk up my razor too much. It was a gift so I figured I should use it). AOS Sandalwood soap Merkur 38c Edwin Jagger Best Badger Crystal Super Platinum (1) Thayers WH Neutrogena Sensitive Skin balm Joboba Oil Desert Essence moisturizer AOS Sandalwood EDT A great shave today! This was my first time with AOS products, and I must say I do enjoy the Sandalwood soap. I wasn't a fan of the scent initially, but the more I smelled it, the more it's growing on me. I managed to whip up some great, luxurious lather with it.
Happy Hump Day! Hot Shower Green Marvy Mug Omega Pro Boar TBS Maca Root SC '56 Blue Tip Super Max Super Stainless (1) Cool Water Rinse Victoria's Secret "Candy, Baby" Lotion Pe-Re-Ja Cologne Two new variables introduced into my routine today, a new blade and a new razor. While I don't always introduce two things at the same time, I felt confident the razor was a good choice. The mechanics appeared to be the same as my Lady Gillette Stars razors. The razor performed as expected, the blade was definitely rescued by the Maca Root. A comfortable shave, but the blade didn't perform the same as my other varieties of Super-Max. I'm not sure how many of the Super Stainless we have left, but I'll leave those to Jeff and stick with my Super Max Super Platinum's! Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Jan, 27 Just finished my 2 weeks of 'practicing Palmolive SS'. The problem was that I never could predict how the shave with it will go. 50% of shaves are great in every aspect, but the last half always gift me with a dozen or so of very small cuts all over my face. A lot of work was done in that 2 weeks, I hope I'm progressing with that new experience... Fall in love to Palmolive SS in that 2 weeks, great stuff! Hot shower, soak my brush, heat my bowl... Thursday, January 27 EJ DE86 Astra SP (3) Tabac SS Ever Ready Boar Preshave Oil (Home Blend) Lucky Tiger Aspen Polo Balm Excellent shave on 3+ passes. this time, I used the preshave oil just before the touch up phase (not at beginning). It worked, especially on the neck. I may have to experiment some more with this method.
Thursday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 O'Clock day 2 Viking Blue Ice SC :love008 :love008 :freezing :freezing Viking Blue Ice AS Balsam :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008 Dolce & Gabbana EDT :love008 :love008 :love008 :love008 I am so impressed with the Russian version of Viking Blue Ice cream and aftershave balsam, because it smells much more manly than the Bulgarian version. The cream is very easy to work with, and it gives great lather and a very nice cooling effect. The balsam has no menthol, but it's very soothing and relaxing to sensitive skin.
Gillette Red Tip - British Wilkinson Sword (8) Rudy Vey Finest Speick Shave Stick Alum Superior 70 Bay Rum Woke up late and didn't have time for a straight shave. 2 quick passes with the red tip resulted in very nice shave. Day 8 and there was no tugging. It wasn't quite as sharp as day one, but still smooth.
