SoS: January 25, 2016 - January 31, 2016

It did add a personal touch to the photo that made it stand out in a good way. It is impressive some of these SOTD pics on here, it makes me want to step my photo game up a bit as well.

 

I've been making use of a lot of everyday stuff I find lying around the house. They make great props.

 

Well actually I`m adding to my rotation with a Durham Duplex (if I can learn how to deal with the " cow catchers". Just scored 30 blades for a quarter per blade. Now all I need is some advice on how to use it. But then I love danger ( yeah, sure). Although, if I can scare- up enough interest in some trac II cartridge gear, I might PIF 2 handles and some carts. My catch-all drawer is getting kinda full. I had fun with that last PIF. Learned a lot.

Final day of January and I finished with the Rabbit. What a month, eh? I didn't get all the shaves I intended due to my time in the hospital but I did get some good work in with the Mongoose and with the Rabbit as well. Today's shave, well let's say it was a bit rough due to my lack of use of the Rabbit and I'm still a bit shaky from meds. That didn't really become a huge factor, though I did have a couple of nice nicks and a weeper on my neck in the end. I did get a two pass DFS, though not the best, but it was nice to have the straight back in my hand again. I also think using the Fat may have helped as it is a bit slicker than Tabac for me, but all in all it was a fine way to end the month. Now, on to February!

First shave of the February exercise went off without a hitch. This month is going to be about mastering the strop and continuing to improve my SR skills. Stuck with two passes today and caught DFS with ease, but managed to get a bit sloppy on the angle at the neckline and paid the price with Alum. All in all a great shave, and a TSD Sunday to boot! 64F yesterday, 28F and snow today. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.
