Well I guess I'm getting a jump start on Mondays shave. I work 3rd shift and my Monday starts Sunday night. With a 10 hour shift in front of me and no sleep its going to be long night. So I decided to use a heavy coat of menthol trying to put a little kick in my steps hoping it will keep me awake through the night.

So my Menthol Monday morning shave on a sunday evening:
Pre shave: hot shower/proraso pre shave
    Soap: Proraso green tub
    Razor: Feather AS-D1
    Blade: Astra platinum
    Brush: Omega badger
Post shave:Cold water rinse followed by Proraso ASB

Since I shaved this morning and had a 1 pass DFS,I only did a 1 passer this evening. And again another DFS. The Feather actually did a fantastic job! Maybe I'm getting the hang of this little booger :D

Today was a pretty awesome shave....Simple....and cheap lol.....but none the less it was good! I busted out the hardcore neglected VDH cheapy boar brush today......performed quite well...its been a while since I have used it...at least 6 months....

Preshave: Hand strop razor (I am gettin better at this stropping business!) and a hot water face wash.
    Razor:Wester Bros. Anchor Brand Straight
    Soap:Arko Shave Stick
Aftershave:Ogallala Bay Rum w/ a dab of my homemade ASB

For some reason I am loving this face lathering business.....and the Arko....man!! I love that stuff....I have literally been kicking around the idea about getting rid of most my other soaps and creams and as Johnny would say become "a creature of habit".....I now know why he is that way! Its amazing and I honestly feel like i have no need for any other soaps or creams even tho they are nice to switch up every now and then....for such a cheap soap Arko smells so good and lathers very well!! Cant explain how much I like it.....between Arko..VDH and Williams.....I could die happy.....oh and my Lucky Tiger Face Tonic!! As for razors I could see myself keeping a few of each style...and the same with brushes......anyone know of a brush that performs exceptionally well with Arko for face lathering? Im all ears!

    Sunday Morn!

    Pre: Hot Shower, KMF Cream
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (1)
    Cream: European Palmolive
    Brush: Omega Boar
Post: Thayers WH, Cold Rinse, RSC Balm

I gotta say, I was quite excited to try this blade, and was expecting great things. The shave was nice and close, but it left me with a fair amount of razor burn on my chin, where I do not normally get any burn. The Yellow didn't treat me this way :p I will definitely be giving this blade a few more tries, because hey, it wasn't all that bad, and maybe it was just an off morning. We'll see!
