OMG, what a shave, what a shave, what a shave, WHAT A GREAT SHAVE!!!!!!!! (forgive me for screaming like that!) Everything fell right into place from start to finish - my prep was perfect and the Barbon cream lathered so richly and thick. BTW, this cream does something else which I never noticed before from any other cream - it acts like topical anesthesia on your skin. If you nick or cut yourself, it stops the bleeding immediately and you feel no pain. The Thayers witch hazel and Barbon aftershave felt heavenly. ;) :D

    Face Lathering day three
The HIS and PPF did not disappoint once again. My MR10 easily sang through three passes of slick lather, leaving only a little irritation on my neck. The Captain's Choice AS was quite burny and a bit unpleasant. I think I like Krampert's better, since it burns less, and I know I like TSD AS Milk better because it has no alcohol, just witch hazel. Perhaps the Captain is just reminding me that my technique needs to improve?

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot compress, Crown Shaving Co. Supreme Glide Preshave lotion
    Brush: Simpson 56 Best Badger
Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine Glycerin
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo Nickel
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS splash

I got a reasonably DFS this morning, although the rapidly diminishing size of the soap puck made lathering a bit more challenging than was previously the case. I went ahead and put the remnants of the puck on top of my VDH unscented after I finished, making what should be an unusual frankensoap. Less than ideal attention to detail led to a tiny nick along my neck, but otherwise, no complaints.

    Sunday morn;
Finally tried the Omega boar I got from Lyndon's brush pif, the other boars I have are a couple of Surreys, a VDH, and several vintages and the Omega just blows them away!!! It's almost as soft as my badgers, lathers very well, and is comfortable to hold.
He also included a travel tub of Col. Conk amber scented soap. Now when I started wet shaving one of the first soaps was the clear glycerin version of the Col.'s amber soap and while I liked the scent it didn't lather that well(probably my lack of technique). This lathers great and cushion very well.
Thanks again to Lyndon for pif!!!
Oh and I used my Myatt Daymark razor very aggressive, but a great razor.

Razor: Rhodium Plated Fat Boy (S7)
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (D6)
Brush: Bullgoose Beehive w 24mm WD Silvertip
    Bowl: Dirty Bird 1.5 Scuttle
Pre Shave Soap: Musgo Real Lime Basil Oil
Pre Shave Balm: Homemade Lime & Spearmint
    Shave Soap: Taconic Tequila Lime
    Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive ASB

This morning setup almost the same as yesterday, but yesterday I tried Taconic Tequila Lime for the first time that I had obtained in a trade but I Iced it with M Bomb so this morning no M Bomb as I wanted to see how much of the lime came through. I received a MFS with this soap but lime is little on the mild side for me but the aftershave feeling is quite good. I think I will continue to use this as an Iced version of lime.

Troy M Prep: Mephitis mephitis musk

Prep - Hot shower and homemade PSO
    Brush - VdH boar
    Soap - Cella Crema (sample)
Razor - noggin - Headblade ATX
Razor - face - Gillette SS
    Blade - Astra (2)
AS - Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Today is one of my days to shave the dome, so I thought I would go ahead and catch the face again - approximately 12 hours since my last shave. This was the first use of the Cella Crema I received as a sample. It was fine. I also used a pre-shave oil made from EVO, Castor Oil and Almond extract. Rubbed it all in and got after it. My head shave was fine with only one small patch of uncut stubble, but it will be gone tomorrow night. The face shave was an outstanding 2 pass with absolutely no nicks or weepers. Don't know if it was the oil or the 12 hour between shaves.

Started with GFT Rose which was good for the face but not slick enough for my head so I switched to MWF. First Shark SC in this razor and it had another flawless performance; every blade I've tried has been wonderful so far.

    Sunday

Hot shower with face washed in Matas face wash.
Star DE '50-60s coupled with Viking's Sword (2).
    Tabac soap.
    Vie-Long Butterscotch Edition horse brush.
    3 passes, growth adjusted.
    Alum.
Nivea for Men Sensitive after shave balm.

First shave with the Star DE. It went as imagined - it looks like a Tech when compared side to side (guard etc.) and sure shaves like one also! There's a good heft to it and the knurling is fail-proof. Funny little thing I haven't came across since and very little info is available online (that I could find anyways).

    Sunday:
hot shower w/ TOBS Sandalwood bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Frog Straight (1) pass
    Parker 80R 2+ passes
    Astra Superior Platinum (5)
    Semogue Owners Club badger
TOBS Sandalwood cream (sample) in a warm bowl
    D.R. Harris Sandalwood AS

Learned an important lesson today called Respect. Fourth shave with a straight and second shave with the Frog. Had a real nice setup and plenty of time to go slow and easy and concentrate on the task. Decided to come across at a slight angle down the cheek and then follow the jawline to the chin. Bad idea. Fortunately I felt it instantly but it still made a slice that will give me something to look at for a couple of days. Short strokes, short strokes, short strokes. It was going so smoothly that it just seemed right to keep on going right down my face just like I do with a DE. Lesson learned.

SOTD Jan 12 - straight week day 6
    Prep: hot towel
Razor: G. Wostenholm & Son CANUCK
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Khaki
    Blade: Feather (day 5)
    Brush: Wilkinson Sword
    Soap: Proraso white tub
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: cold water, Proraso blue

Two passes with the straight again, WTG followed by XTG, face only. The hot towel didn't do a great job of face prep, so the XTG could have been better, but still a nice smooth shave. Back to the DE on the neck, also two passes.
It's going to take a lot more time to get proficient, but I'm enjoying the straight razor shaves!

    Sunday

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: Petal Pusher Fancies unscented
Brush: Mühle VIVO black fiber synthetic
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Gillette SharpEdge (yellow pack)
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

Pleasant, comfortable shave today. The Petal Pusher's soap and the Mühle brush were both Christmas gifts from my mother-in-law, Martha. The brush loaded up the soap easily, and I was able to quickly made an excellent creamy lather on my face.

Yesterday was a day of from shaving, so I had a two day stubble. The open comb side of the ShaveCraft razor easily knocked down the stubble in the first pass. Three more passes with the closed comb side gave me a very smooth comfortable face. Excellent shave!
