    Wednesday:
    Omega 10029 Baby-Pro, boar
    Arko Shave Stick/Arko Max.Comfort SC
    Gillette Senator/Derby (D1)
    Arko-Nem moisturizer/Arko Aqua AS Splash

This is like a collection of favorites from days gone by....I found an old pack of Derby's and thought I'd give one a spin. In honor of the Derb I picked up my old favorite 'barber shop' style After-Shave, Arko Aqua. The Stick/SC uber-lather I've been using lately but both products I've used forever. And the Omega Baby-Pro's been my go-to brush almost since I came back to TWS....

So I have to say...I was surprised...The Derby came through like 'Too Cool for School'...Now I remember why these blades were all the rage a few years ago...I remember someone saying they 'invited' buffing and they do....:) After the second pass I was 'polished'...but I did a third just practicing 'Buffing' and J-Hooking....Just having more fun than should be allowed while shaving....Ended up; definition of irritation-free BBS.:happy108: ...was it Danny who said, "Babies Butts should be Jealous" of todays shave....:happy102:

PS.: I think I'm going to have to reconsider Derbys...I may have to Procure a box or two straight away....Excellent shave today!! And this Senator is still batting a thousand !!

    Vikings Sword (2)
    Penworks Finest
    Monsavon (always amazing)
    Proraso White ASB

I have been too tired the last few days to shave, but decided to pull the trigger today. I practiced my dad's face lathering technique this morning (called him a few days ago asking him what he did), wetting the brush just before you use it and then go to work. It worked much better than what I was doing before (soaking the brush) for some reason, and the major bonus was the nice warm lather! I did a quick 2-pass and ended up with a very nice, irritation-free shave!:happy036:

    Wednesday, January 11, 2012 - Cream Annihilation
    1. Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar; hand strop blade
    2. Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground Costa Rican w/ cream
    3. Lather: Speick cream - face lather
    4. Brush: Simpson's Commodore X2
    5. Razor: Gem OCMM
    6. Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (5); 2 passes
    7. Post: Cold water rinse; Kiehl's Balm
Another great shave with the Speick, a 2-pass DFS. The Commodore has quickly become my go to brush. A great combination of soft tips with nice backbone for massaging the lather into the stubble.

Shave Rating - Splendid! God Bless!

    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    Cream: European Palmolive
    Brush: Omega Boar
Post: Thayers WH, Nivea Replenishing ASB

First shave with a Voskhod, and it was mostly good. I have some neck/chin irritation today, but I think it was just re-irritated from the Feather yesterday, so maybe I'll give it a few days, then be back at it. Have a good day!

    Razor: Wilkinson Sticky
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: Rudy Vey Beehive
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Czech & Speake No 88
    A/S: Floid Blue

The stars must not have been aligned properly because I endured a rare sub-standard shave. This was my first use of the No. 88 shave soap and my lather was a little drier than usual...and that is where I am casting blame. I need to experiment a bit with this soap to get the lather right. Strange though as I have not had any issues with the Oxford and Cambridge soap. In any case, the Floid Blue salvaged what had been a mediocre shave.

    Wednesday's Shower and Shave
Hot shower to start the morning ritual, while showering Parker Badger was warming itself.

I choose a Mystery Lavender shave cream, Parker Badger whipped up mounds of lather.

Today razor choice Gillette Open Comb, with the mystery blade day four. Tomorrow a razor and blade change.
The Parker Badge easily loaded lather for three passes.

After three passes I splashed warm water to rinse. Then a nice polar water soaking and splash of my face. After pat drying my face I splashed on Thayer's Witch Hazel. I let that dry crowning my shave with Tet-A-Tet Balm.

    A superb five blade DFS.

    Feather Artist Club SS
    Semogue 1250 Brush
    Erasmic Supreme Shaving Stick
Alum Block and Boots Glycerine & Rosewater
    Swiss Pitralon AS

Near BBS with two passes and a touchup. The Erasmic Supreme is really good. It is a glycerine soap which smells exactly like the bowl version and gives a fantastically slick and thick lather. Feel good factor was high tonight:)

    DE87 w/Lord Platinum (Stropped, D2)
Proraso Aloe & Green Tea Soap
    EJ Pure Badger Brush
Cold Water Rinse + Gillette Hydro A/S

I dunno WTF happened with that blade, it hurt like hell this morning, I think it may have been a bad one from the pack that had 1 decent shave and went to hell. It's garbaged now, shave was close but didn't feel very comfortable at all. Switching back to Astra or Rapira tomorrow, maybe I'll flip a coin.

7AM blades seems to be good and smooth for me. Nice shave! Decided to see what will happen if I put alum only. Feel good and smooth! DFS, I was very careful, as my face still feels the traces of yesterday's rough shave...
