Could a str8 have a more badass name? Maybe "Flayer" or "Scimitar" or something, but Wolfius is just a great str8 name.
Still going nutz Kinda enjoying the mix after a couple of months of same-o. C.E. Bigalow Darwin/Darby Vintage Stanhome Royall BayRhum +5 Verrry good shave.

15 July After a four day growth TSD ISZ pre shave Gillette slim (7) w/ Gillette 7O'Clock super platinum (D1) TSD monkey farts soap Anherb Conditioner one DFS! I was trying out a bunch of new stuff. I just got my sample of monkey farts soap and tried to use it by just rubbing on my face. I couldn't find anything of the correct size to hold it. Finally just left it in my palm and used the brush on it for face latering. Smell kind of like PEZ to me, but it did a nice job. I had to buy the monkey farts for name only. Two months ago we had taken our daughter on a 5 hour road trip, as soon as we reached our destination, and I put the van in park she power hurled over the entire rear of the van. She had been eating banana's and pineapple, and we were joking it smelled like monkey farts while cleaning up. I think I like the soap, but need some more time with it. Just for ease of use, I grated up the sample and put in a shave stick container. The next shave should even be better.

Saturday morning Prep: hot shower Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Gillette Platinum (2) Uberlather: Palmolive stick and gel with extra glycerine Aftershave: Nivea Anti-irritation gel My first go at uberlather. It was fantastic. This Palmolive stuff lathers very easily and smells really nice. Extra glycerine added that extra glide. IMO the best lather I've produced yet. The shave itself was a bit rushed, because I was in a hurry. It was decent all in all. 3/5
Brian, it wasn't as aggressive as I was expecting, I wasn't really let down, it was a totally different shaving experience that what I had expected. The barberpole handle though is probably going to wind up being one of my favorites, it feels awkward till you actually shave with it, and when I did it felt quite good and very steady.

(even our German Shepherd wanted to join in!) The best shave I had all week so far - the Gada Cool Mint cream felt like heaven, and the Iced Subzero aftershave increased the freezing effect of the Visal gel. I have 3 tubes of the Gada Cool Mint to send away to Europe to some good friends over there. Now, I go out for breakfast with daughter and my niece and nephew.
hmmm.... JoAnna must have discontinued it. And that shave finished up what little I had left. I'll be honest and say I'm not the greatest and picking up the subtle nuances of scents. It has some spice notes to it, not over powering. Bay Rum and bergamont, maybe? I liked it.
Gem OCMM Gem PTFE Stainless (3) Rubberset Boar Reknot (Chubbz 2) Bigelow SC Alum Superior 70 Bay Rum (Boosted) Another fantastic shave from the OCMM. I don't really understand its aggressive reputation. Once I learned the technique for the razor, I get excellent irritation free shaves. 4/5
Saturday - it's the weekend! :happy069 Time for the SEs!! So, my first attempt at wet-shaving with a DE razor yesterday. Hot shower King of Shaves shave oil (while still in the shower) Tweezerman sable brush Tabac puck of soap Weishi Razor Derby blade Three passes (one against the grain) Arko Classic Fat Cream Tabac aftershave I was very cautious and managed to survive unscathed, but was a little disappointed with the closeness (or lack thereof) of my shave. Still, it felt good and I'm sure my technique will improve to the point when I can eventually achieve the legendary Baby's Bum Smooth shave. Also, Tabac (soap and aftershave) is AWESOME! Great lather from the soap, and the aftershave smells excellent. Compliments all night!
Well done. Your shaves will only get better from here. You don't have to strive for a BBS shave. I think it is more important to get your technique dialed in and get a real nice irritation free shave. However, the most important thing is that you enjoy yourself while shaving. It's not a big deal if you have a few errant whiskers here or there, within a few hours they will be back anyway. If you are able to pull off a BBS shave, then more power to you. Unfortunately even after 1.5 years of wet shaving I cannot without a load of irritation on the neck. I get a very nice comfortable shave and enjoy myself doing it. Anyway, congrats on the first shave. Hope you have many more enjoyable shaves.
