Oh geez, I thought that was a blue bird in a tree, not your brush and bowl! Very creative as usual!

    SOTD THURSDAY 7/16

Another great shave with the Ikon 102 Slant. Using an Astra SP along with Maggard Limes & Bergamot soap and my Whipped Dog Silvertip gave me a really close 2 pass (XTG, WTG) shave. I've never used a razor this efficient, allowing me forgo my usual 3 passes. And I think the baby approves, I might even pass the "cotton ball test". I may have to let my vintage razors "rest" a while, this is great fun and I'm loving it!

    Soap: TOBS Avocado Cream
Razor: Gillette Red Tip Super Speed

TOBS Avocado today. This is my last shave with this tub. Excellent cream! 10 seconds to load the WD Silvertip. Great, easy, thick, lather. ASCO Red SS in the Red Tip. Great smooth, close, shave! I finished with Proraso Green.

P.S. Tomorrow I will use this exact set up with the exception of Mystic Water Irish Traveller as my soap. I will then compare and contrast the two soaps and which pairs better with Creed Green Irish Tweed.

    image.jpg Razor: Gillette 195 Fat Boy (f1) 1960 (3)
Brush: Jerusalem Olive Wood/WD Silvertip 24/48
Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue
    Cream: Truefitt&Hill Grafton
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black Post Shave Gel, Old Spice original Shulton 1956 glass AS Stopper #3
Whipped up a thumb nail size dollop of the T&H in my favorite mug with the Silvertip. The FB is hard to put away for another razor, because it shaves me so well. It's weight does all the work. I wanted to see how it compares to my Feather AS-DS2. So I set the FB on 3 for the entire shave to see if that was close. WTG XTG on my face and neck on 3, ATG on my neck on 3. Nice and slick lather and with my FB on 3 for my neck I can buff a little on the hard to get to spots for a very nice smooth shave. So I would have to say the Feather shaves about the same as the FB on 3, at least for me. So why do I usually use a 5 on my FB for my first 2 passes? I'll have to see tomorrow. Great cucumber smell with the WH, and then some soothing JB. After cleanup some Vintage Old Spice AS from 1956. Perfect! Have a good one y'all.

3 pass slow and easy BBS. No nicks, no nothing. Finished up with alum block anyway. For me, the Rolls is second to none for edging facial hair (a Van Dyke at the moment).

    Yesterday's Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap
Soap/cream- L'occitane cade shaving cream sample
    Brush- Semogue 1470
    Razor- Gillette Tech
    Blade- Wilkinson sword(2)
Post- Cold water rinse, Dr Harris Sandalwood aftershave lotion and Crabtree and Evelyn Sandalwood aftershave balm

Second time using the Tech, I do like it. But I need a sharper blade than the Wilkinson sword. I feel I don't get close enough and I get SLIIGHT tugging, I didn't get this on the second shave when using my Merkur 37c.

Finished off with sandalwood lotion and balm. I just love how I smell when using those post shave products. I can feel in my face that they are plenty moisturizing and the lotion is not to drying because of the "low"
    Alcohol content.

I have given up on this semogue. It will be a travel brush and occasional use. Not more

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM Micro Matic Clog Pruf, Ace straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE blade (1)
    Brush: Vie Long Horse Hair
    Soap: L'Occitane - Cade
After: Home made ASB, Nivea ASB
    Cologne: Polo Extreme Sport

Happy Thursday!! The Cade was whipped into a nice lather by the Vie Long brush. The MMCP and the Ace made short work of the stubble. The Polo and the Nivea ASB was a good finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Anna and Claras sandalwood bath soap
    Soap/cream- CELLA
    Brush- Turkish nr 6 Boar
    Razor- Gillette Tech
    Blade- Astra SP
Post- Cold water rinse, Proraso eucalyptus and menthol aftershave lotion, Homemade unscented mentholated aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

It was a while ago I used CELLA but I still got a good lather. I would like it a bit thicker but I should just load it more.

The Tech with the Astra SP is a much better combo than the wilkinson sword =) I get pretty good shaves with this razor hahaha. I had NO idea, it's a nice surprise. I need a little more than usual for a good close shave, but I dont mind. No irritation whatsoever, today I found the sweet spot with my angle =)

    Proraso aftershave is just amazing.

    Razor: Gillette Slim
    Blade: Astra
    Brush: Semogue
    Soap: Proraso Green
After shave: lavender witch hazel followed by coconut oil

Sorry...no pic again today...life is starting to get busy. I am finding the Shea butter is not as nice on warmer days...so I am going back to coconut oil for the warmer months. Great shave though this morning...such a nice way to start a busy day! :chores016:
