    Razor - Rimei
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Brush - Vie Long 12705
    Soap - Tabac
Post - Cold Water splash, Alum, Nivea Original

Well the Feather SS is on the way and will be arriving tomorrow. So, in the interim I've decided to give each of the el-cheapo mystery razors a turn. The Rimei and Long Feng get to come out of their cases and show their stuff. Today was the Rimei, which I bought on Ebay for less than $3. Oh, and shipping was free from China so it really was less than $3. The razor is nice and shiny and actually has pretty good weight to it. The baseplate is thin but solid and everything looks like it aligns well. Even though it's a cheap Chinese razor it's still engineered better than most Soviet razors.

@Bama Samurai suggested making these two days a razor review using the same setup so that's what I'll do. I'm using Ladas for the blade and the Vie-Long 12705 and Tabac. And off we go. Lather was great as always with the brush/soap combo. I start with a wet brush and add a little water to the tips if I need it to get the lather nice and slick and cushiony. I can tell from the look of the blade gap this should be a mild shave and, yes it is. Very mild, comfortable and it actually gets some good reduction on the first pass. The second XTG pass is equally smooth and effective, though my neck is still not DFS. This is not uncommon with the milder razors for me. Went for the full third pass including ATG on the face and went XTG and G-slide on the neck. Rinsed with cold water and hit the alum. Very quiet. Almost silent in fact. Very very good performance by the razor. Now to give it a couple of minutes and will check result..........wow. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls and friends around the world......we have a BBS! That is an amazing result for the uber-cheap Rimei.

My impression of this razor is obviously very good. It might be interesting to run a few different blades through it at some point but I can tell you, the Ladas is an excellent match for it. Hopefully the Long Feng will surprise me tomorrow as well! Happy Monday!

A soap that is just too good. Not only is the scent great, but the lather ability is fantastic. It's too easy to lather. Performance is spot on!

    Mongoose Shave #14

Shower, Mystic Water Bath Soap Yemaya, Neutrogena Face Wash
B-3 Mongoose with Triad Helix Hex TI
    Feather Professional #7
    Druida Aluminum Chubby Manchurian
    Krampert’s Frostbite SS
Alum Block, Dickinson’s +Menthol, Unrefined Shea Butter
    Krampert’s Frostbite Aftershave

Today’s shave, two passes XTG-AGT plus clean up, was BBS. Shave #7 for the Feather Pro blade was still very smooth. Druida’s knot held enough lather for more passes. Krampert’s Frostbite was thick, slick, and minty. Krampert’s Frostbite aftershave left my face ice cold and my eyes watering. Hope everyone had a frosty Menthol Monday.

Interesting review. I tried a Rimei once and I was surprised -- it was a decent shave, no problems at all. I didn't like the look and feel of the razor and couldn't see myself using it much, so I gave it away.

It looks like today is gonna be new razor day.I've been putting off getting a AS-D2 since it came out,I like my AS-D1, but it find it lacking when it comes to dome shaves. So that should be here today as well as a Phoenix Dbl OC.The Phoenix was so cheap that I couldn't pass it by,plus I do a lil blade buffing on my dome and I hear that this is a good design for that.

    Stay frosty,my friends!

Another great day with my new Feather razor. The Feather blade locked in and off we go to another great shave. Whipped up some great lather with the TOBS and the Badger. I let the weight of the razor do all the work, for a nice 2 pass shave. I very rarely nick myself or even get a weeper, as I go slow with no distractions, but with this razor I seem to be able to go with almost reckless abandon, with no ill effects. I know my technique has improved over the last year, however, I must give some credit to this wonderful razor. Another great shave, Finished with the WH, and then some soothing JB. After cleanup some vintage Old Spice from 1973. Gotta love the spice! Have a good one y'all!

    7/13/2015 Menthol Monday!! Woo Hoo!!

Prep: Hot shower with Neutrogena Face Wash with menthol, home made PSO
Razor: GEM Pushbutton, CMON Filarmonica Doble Temple straight razor
Blade: GEM Blue Star SE blade (1)
    Brush: Turkish #6
Soap: Stirling - Margaritas In The Arctic
After: Home made ASB, Osage Rub after shave
    Cologne: Polo Extreme Sport

It is Menthol Monday!! The #6 brush whipped up the MITA into a nice and cooling lather this morning. The GEM and the Fily sliced through the stubble with ease. The Osage Rub brought the chill and the Polo was a nice finish for this 2 pass Darn Fine Shave.

    Have a blessed day!

Sorry about the poor quality picture. I was having a hard time with the lighting today. did a 3 pass shave that turned out to be a DFS. I don't think I've ever had a bad shave with the TSD soap. Even when using an old blade and doing touch-ups. Great scent and very slick with a menthol kick! Very cold with all the menthol today. Went outside in the warm weather to heat my face back up afterwards. Hope everyone has or had a great shave today!!

Two day growth means a three pass shave today, including a new strategy to deal with my nemesis (jawline) in order to best get at the pesky stubble that haunts me day and night.

I think I finally got it thanks to @Bama Samurai -

I stretch the skin up, putting it on my cheek and a flatter surface.
    Kinda like this guy:

I'm still working on building "the stretch" into my usual passes.
Derby blades seem sharp enough to me, but as I continue my blade trials I'll be looking for something smoother for this razor.

    Cheers!
