    Proraso Pre-shave
    Old Spice Lime
The Brush B-3 by Tom, Badger
    Gillette OT by Tom
    Rockwell Swedish Stainless Steel
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Lucky Tiger

I started out with some Proraso Pre-shave cream. The Old Spice Lime Cream face-lathered well with The Brush B-3 by Tom, Badger brush. I did the two passes with the Gillette OT by Tom razor and Rockwell Swedish Stainless Steel blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

First time using this razor. Just bought it at an outlet store a few days ago.
It is a very mild DE TTO razor, chrome plated, solid brass.
Provided a great 3-pass BBS shave (WTG, ATG, XTG). VERY SMOOTH! No touch ups needed.
I got one minor nick by my lip, only to realize that I had loosened the top somehow on the first pass. Never had that happen before.
I tend to hold my DE's at the bottom edge of the handle. My other TTO DE (Weishi gunmetal) has the nut at the top of the handle under the head.
I was shaving pretty quickly, but realized the change almost immediately. I'll have to remember this feature(?) about the Micro Touch One.

VERDICT: SURPRISE! This cheap razor is a very nice shaving tool. It has very little blade exposure, and is a pretty mild shaver.
Yet, with the right technique, this provides an excellent close shave. YYMV

    Wednesday's Planned Shave:

    prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(Power Refresh w/Icy Menthol)

    brush--Stirling "li'l brudder"
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE

just an experiment here-I'm hoping there will be a bit of a cooling effect with the soap, and I KNOW there will be with the aftershave.

Late evening shave. Test run of a vintage razor on loan from a gracious member on another forum. A GEM bladed Pall Mall. Gave a very nice, 3 pass near BBS shave with a couple of spots near the throat and chin that had a couple of whiskers. But more than good enough for me. Recieved also a test sample soap GEA by Jabonman that produced a creamy and protective lather. An excellent relaxing and smooth shave to end another hectic work day. Have a great evening and shaves Gents.... :)

    Razor: Pall Mall
    Blade: GEM SS
    Brush: Maggard 26mm synthetic
    Soap: GEA by Jabonman
Toner: Manetti & Roberts Rose Water
    W/H: Thayers Medicated
    A/S Splash: RR New York

After three Rockwell shaves switched to the Jaws-Mastiff frankenhead. What you sacrifice in comfort vs the Rockwell you gain in efficiency. Not a huge difference but discernable on the head shave . Two pass + BBS, Permasharp (3), Tabac. [IMG]

The OneBlade is a good razor for me, but I have been really enjoying the RR Ti Baby Smooth and 400 brush. I know it is easy to favor using the latest acquisitions, but I really like these products. I want to get some more mileage on the Charcoal Goods I picked up a couple of weeks ago, but I am having trouble putting down the Baby. Maybe after the current blade is used up, I will go back to the Charcoal. The OneBlade is fine, but almost a little boring since it removes the need for the shaver's skill. I guess that is the sign of good engineering, but it also takes some enjoyment away from my shave in an odd way.

In old-school times "Pall Mall" was pronounced "Pell Mell". As a kid, that drove me crazy.

For me, the OneBlade is really efficient and I think it is darn near impossible to cut myself with it as it is that smooth but mows everything down pretty much in one WTG pass for me.

Tonight's shave was with a well abused Wade & Butcher, that was saved, and honed up. I plan on doing some more work to it, in the future. I had a very nice 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. This is a keeper, that needs a little more TLC, and scales. Excellent Razor.

Razor- Wade & Butcher, 1/4 Hollow. Very heavy, and thick blade.
    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Arctic Blue

I have to agree that the design is pretty robust. Believe it or not, I did have a shave early on with it that gave me some razor burn. I felt pretty stupid having a bad shave with the razor that everyone says is the easiest to use! I was not acquainted with the mild feel and over shaved a bit. I also was not using any pressure, which I now find actually improves the shave with this razor. I guess my initial instinct was not to trust the razor. Once you get used to using it, the shaves are pretty flawless. I'm glad you are happy with yours as well.

July 18 - Grand Blade Trials [IMG] Special Edition!!

    Razor - Kai Captain
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

Switching to the Kai stick tonight with the same Schick blade I've used the last two nights. Tabac and the LE brush for the lather. Slick as always with Tabac and the Tuxedo knot really made it easy. This brush really is a joy to use. I love the way it fits my hand and gets the job done with ease.

The blade is no worse than it seemed last night so maybe I was imagining things a bit. Smooth, still seemed a but tuggy but nothing horrible. The Kai head didn't seem to have any effect on how it performed compared to the Feather SS head. I still like the feel of the Kai in my hand just a bit more than the Feather. I think it is the shape of the handle that makes it feel better to me. I find the round Feather handle a bit on the slippery side at times even though it's rubberized.

Finish was a near-BBS so the blade can't be doing all that bad. It took three passes but no touch up so more like a two pass and heavy touch up. I still prefer the feel of the Kai or Feather blades but I'll give it another day or so to see how it does.

I stockpiled the AOS when there was a $5 online sale somewhere a year or so ago. I've also used the T&H PSO and liked that as well. In both cases I've just rubbed it in prior to the first pass and have not reapplied it. I can see how that would make sense though. For me, the PSO is about protecting your skin by keeping it more supple. It doesn't have any impact on the beard IMHO.

One of these days I might experiment with making my own. :happy088:
