    30 day rule - Day 24
    MDC lavender Face Lathered
    Ladas blade
    Slim Adjustable set to 8
    3 passes

The 30 day system has really helped me get my technique down to an art.

Mayne Island is very nice. I particularly like Village Bay. Let me know if you get the caretaker position and need an assistant.

    Frey's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating Face Wash, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Lather: RazoRock One-X croap
    Razor: RazoRock Bamboozled RAKE OC
    Blade: Bic (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Pinaud Clubman AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

Achievement unlocked: finished an entire jar of One-X. I had enough lather to do 3 or more passes, but between the bit of razor burn I had yesterday, and switching to a new blade this AM, I opted to keep it to two passes, both comfortable, and CCS results.

    Greetings Douglas,
Shannon's soaps are a hidden gem, I love everything about her soaps and the scent of this one is delicious :eatdrink047:
She now has them in a much improved plastic jar instead of the small tins previously. I moved the soap to this tub from the tin
to aid loading the brush with no mess.

Another great shave with the PAA Dbl OC,face and dome BBS! The heavier handle plus the Feather blades make a big difference in the performance of this razor.

A most delightful shave with the Black Ice soap. Not a face-freezer, but still quite cold. Very comfortable post-shave feeling as well.

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Olive oil bath soap
Soap/cream- Proraso Green tea and Oat shaving soap (sample)
    Brush- Loccitane Plisson Synthetic
    Razor- Gillette Tech
    Blade- Astra SP
Post- Cold water rinse, Iced Pinaud Clubman aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm

First time using Proraso white. I got a sample from a friend. And guys.. proraso soaps are just flawless! The soap lathered effortlessly with the Plisson and I got enough lather for 3 passes or more.

All in all, an okey shave. The soap performed great, but I just dont get as close as I would like to with the Tech. Now it was only an experiment to see if I can get a decent shave with it so I can bring it with me when I travel, which I can. Irritation free shave and close enough so It passed the test.

Now Im gonna start using either my slim or the Merkur 37c again.. or hmm, maybe my Weber! decisions decisions =P even though I have only used it once I know that Im definitely gonna buy proraso white some day =)

    Classy Man Shave #2

    CM razor
    Gillette 7 O'clock (2)
    CM brush
    WSP Gaelic Tweed
    Nivea cooling post shave
    [IMG]
A little better shave than yesterday with the Classy Man razor. Blade exposure is alot and aggressive. I learned to lay the head/cap closer to my skin for a lower approach angle. Still got a bit of irritation though, hence the Nivea post shave.

Also my first time using soap in a tin. I soaked my brush in the cup, wet the soap, lathered the brush in the soap, then took it to the cup to whip up. Worked pretty good, could have used a little more I think but I did have enough to cover my face for two passes and touch up. I'm used to soap in the mug and copious amounts of lather.

I think tomorrow I'll go back to one of my good ol' standby razors. Ibwant to see how the 7 O'clock act with normal blade exposure.

Compared to the Glacial Obsidian soap which is also black liquorice-scented the Black Ice feels almost warm. It's well-mentholated, but I'd say just slightly cooler than Proraso Green.

Last 2 days were very busy. Took a train to Chattanooga for a re-qualifying trip. So didn't have time to post yesterday's shave.

7/23/15 - Out on the Road shave.

Had to hurry and catch a train today, so it was a quick 2 pass shave. Socially acceptable shave from a hotel room.

    7/24/15 - Knockout Friday!!!

    9th Straight Shave.
All went well. Need to work on my ATG pass on my chin. The blade doesn't want to run through it smoothly. Left my chin with stubble on it.
    Any suggestions?

Comments: I just got my second FULL straight shave and didn't have to use my Wolfman in the picture for the cleanup pass! I did WTG, XTG and then a mix of ATG/XTG for a cleanup and it worked great! On the first pass I got a nick right on the jawline from a dumb mistake. It wasn't a big deal or too big of a bleeder but I know if was preventable so life goes on! I rinse and used the steptic pencil on it to closed it up. I then continued to finished the shave with another full pass and a cleanup type pass, which worked fine! No irritation today and I did end up with a nice DFS shave! . No issues with the Arko as it always works well for me. Again, a very, very good shave today but could have been better (no nick)!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.
