Want a big brush and scuttle in which to whip up hot lather. Getting sick of face-lathering.

I just did a quick ATG pass today as a touch-up for work, but wasn't ultimately very satisfied - I guess at least two passes will be required in future. Still had plenty of weepers under my nose, something I'm unfamiliar with.

LOVED the Old Spice soap this morning! I complained before about OS soap, but figured out the problem - when you receive an old puck, there's a 60-year-old dried-out nasty film on the outer layers that is lousy as soap. What I ended up doing was milling the puck, adding a tiny bit of water and a few splashes of Old Spice cologne as I went, and ended up with a lovely, slightly soft, bowl of great-smelling, great-functioning soap that should last FOREVER. (they sold, like, 5.5oz pucks back then).

I'll have to take a picture of it here soon - I'm quite proud of it. :D

This Max cream can bury your face in a mountain of lather, and it smells so nice, and has great skincare. I wish I had another tube, but it's absolutely impossible to get in North America. All I can say is, I'm as close to BBS as you could get! ;) :D

Thursday: Parker 91r razor / Asco Orange blade / VDH Deluxe SS / VDH Boar brush / Barbasol Brisk Aftershave

I think I should make Thursdays my offical VDH Day. The stuff just works so well for me, I need to use it more often.

    Thursday Morning:

    Hot Shower/Hot Towel
    1953 Gillette 40's Style SS
    Iridium Super (Shave #2)
    Rooney Style 3 Super
    Proraso Red
    Proraso A/S Splash
    TSD AS Milk
    Michael Jordan Cologne

A decent enough shave this morning I suppose. The use of the Mach 3 on Tuesday left me with some ingrowns on my jawline. They are most annoying. Got a great lather from the Proraso Red and the Proraso splash has such a pleasant scent. I wish I used it more often but because of my OCD, I only like to match it up with my Proraso creams. The Iridium Super performed sub-par today. I don't know what it is but these blades are very hit or miss for me. I get a great first shave from them no matter what, but the second and third shaves always vary. I'm going to take a nice long break and give my face some time to rejuvenate. I'll be back on Monday. Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks to the generosity of a friend over at SRP, I borrowed a Wostenholm to experience Sheffield steel for the first time. Using the Coates with the straight I was able to get wonderful WTG and XTG passes which I followed up with a touch up with my superspeed. The razor glided over my face and it was very easy to handle. A great shave and many thanks to holli4pirating.

After using the three Gillette's with the same adjustment mechanism, the 195, red dot Fat Boy and the Toggle, I have come to the conclusion that the 195 shaves and feels the best in hand for me.
