Note, what you've purchased is Barrister's RESERVE "Spice". It's a different base from their usual. It's a very good base, mind you, but you should expect to use LESS product and MORE water for the Reserve base. Their primary base is GLISSANT which is being replaced by their new EXCELSIOR base. But the RESERVE line is sticking to the same base. It's their international product.

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    EDRIO#97 RazoRock Switch
    Shark Platinum
    WWB Talleyrand (26mm, Frigate Class)
Stirling For Him soap and AS

Fantastic shave this morning with the RazoRock Switch. After comparing the Switch to the Lupo I can confidently say that these two razors share the same head design. The only difference being that the switch has a thicker base plate to accommodate the side screw for the alternate handle configuration. When in"safety razor"mode that screw post can get in the way in certain areas, especially under the nose. Not really that big of deal since you can just flip the razor over, just something to be aware of. The Lupo was more nimble due to it's smaller head but otherwise the shave was identical. Revisiting Shark blades after initially disliking them early on in my wet shaving career. My impressions of them now are that they are very sharp but less smooth then my favorite Russian blades. We'll see how shave #2 is on them. Have a great day my friends!

Yup, what Matt said. For me a fifteen to twenty second load with a wetter than my usual brush is plenty of lather for three passes. I have all the Reserve scents and Spice is probably my favorite, just edging out Fern.

Hmm haven't tried that one yet, and I've got... nearing a dozen Stirling soaps. What's it smell like, the "Stirling for him" soap?

Stirling For Him is a dupe of Versace Pour Homme. It's citrusy and slightly floral in it's opening with a mild lavender, woodsy, musk and Amber base. It's was a limited edition release last summer but it was pretty popular so it may make a comeback.

After almost three weeks on vacation, without shaving, I was rocking more than a 1/2 inch, full beard. I took this English made razor and went to work. It smoothly cut through, like the beard wasn't there. Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Only problem is, I have a mustache now, and the women in the family will rebel.

Razor- Wade & Butcher. Sheffield England. Full Hollow.
Brush- B400 by Tom. Omega Boar knot.
    Soap- ARKO/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. RIP, Triple Crown Decanter.

Today's shave was emotional for me, it's been over 3 months since I've shaved my head with a razor, I've been using clippers. I used the RazoRock Game Changer OC for both face and head, used very light pressure.

The initial aim of the Reserve line was to duplicate discontinued fragrances, so that was the idea.

Razor - Gillette New SC Deluxe
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Stirling Satsuma
    Brush - Jayaruh #312
    Post - Alum

I made a mental note a couple of months ago that my soap cabinet is absolutely stuffed with Stirling products. Along with the other odds and ends I have like Soap Commander, Jeeves, Oleo, Moon and of course enough Arko to last the apocalypse, I figured there was no need to add any more soaps. So when the new tub of Stirling Satsuma arrived today with my order (oh come on, you saw that coming) I decided I might as well give it a try since it's Whatever Wednesday in my world. Besides.....I have a van in the shop again. I need something fun. Satsuma features mandarin orange with some oriental spices and is a really nicely scented soap. And it's Stirling so you know the rest. Not sheep, but that's ok. He also has a Glacial Satsuma available that I debated on, but since I have the Orange Chill (slightly different orange scent and not as heavy menthol a a Glacial) I went with the regular. Happy I did.

I used the JR312 pony wannabe and had a fantastic lather and that great feel from the fake pony. Love that brush more every time I use it. It acts and feels like a horse without the downside of natural horse hair, namely the knotting and tangling problems. Matthew, even though he's a friendly ghost now, wiped out my beard with two easy passes using the Rapira and I did a third just to enjoy the lather more. BBS is the finish, alum is quiet, and I'm all ready to put my feet up and relax for the evening. I'm certainly glad I decided I didn't need any more soaps and ordered the Satsuma. Worth every penny. Now....where in the world can I put it?! I'm out of room!
