    67788EB6-3BF1-403B-9DB6-6E0E017AE256.jpeg Sunday morning:

    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Wilkinson day 7
    Egyptian Palmolive Menthol SC
    Prep ASB
    Proraso Green AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel EdP

I don’t know how I was able to get such a great shave from a blade that was practically dead - it seems like no matter which brand I use, I can’t get more than a week’s use from any blade. The Egyptian version of Palmolive Menthol is a very good cream in the sense that it lathers as well as the Italian kind, the menthol sensation is just as nice, and the skincare is just as soothing but the scent is completely different, and not in a pleasant way because to me it’s kind of industrial. The Prep added lots of extra chilly postshave care and the Proraso Green aftershave is the only item from that line I really enjoy. Two passes gave me a super BBS result!

    Enjoy your Sunday my friends!

Today I retrieved a soap forgotten since long.
Aside the curious smell, it has very good lathering properties and accepts vaeious percentage of water letting one get the preferred kind of lather.
The razor is as efficient as usual but still non convinced of the blade...

    Cold Water Rinse
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
    The Brush by Tom
    Ever-Ready Lather Catcher
    Vintage Gem Cutlery SE
    CWR
    Granddad's Blend AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face lathered well with The Brush by Tom. I did two passes with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher razor with a Vintage Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Argan Oil, I see. The oud company I've been talkinabout-Agadir-has many Argan Oil items. I keep seeing the ads as they "pop up" daily on the computer. Well, I am on their newsletter list, after all, and I bought their aftershave(although not from Agadir itself.)

Not exactly. There is an exact match Agua Colonia Concentrada Barberia. I am just too mean to buy it. In general citrus scents have no staying power on me so I don't consider them to be 'money well spent'

C792FCBB-486D-4F8C-A1CD-5D7308EAD913.jpeg Well today I decided I would try an SE for SOTD. I recently got the El Jefe in on an eBay purchase. Beautiful shape and I matched it to a 90mm Special Edition iKon handle. First use of any single edge so I carefully loaded up a Schick ProLine AC blade and made sure everything was in alignment and the guard was forward. El Jefe has the distinct ability to be “adjusted” which is code for extremely deadly if you don’t pay attention when loading the blade. No worries.

Soap of the day was Stirling Tuscany which is a lovely scent and a slick soap which I figured I would need with this razor. Let’s not leave anything to chance except for everything!

First pass was WTG and boy I had to work the angle to get it to be smooth for me. Granted first pass with a new razor of a different type so I was expecting some work. Second pass XTG and now with the angle sorted it was singing along nicely. Third pass ATG nice and slow to compensate for the width of the blade and done indeed! Smooth as can be! However, I found far more stubble than I am used to over the first two passes which I attribute to my technique alone.

I must say the audible feedback on this razor is nuts...it doesn’t make a “cutting” sound it makes a “crunching” sound. I don’t know if it cut the stubble or ate it. No matter pretty darn close to BBS was achieved. I have a 10 pack sampler of AC blades to try so I plan on dialling El Jefe in. As far as the name goes? Well there is only one El Jefe in this house and she’s out shopping!

Happy Sunday and happy shaves all!
