    Great shave!

I owe the De Vergulde Hand soap some more use because it’s so nice!

    Friday morning:

    Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 10
    MSC Frosted Bay Rum SS
    Prep ASB
    Floid Vigoroso AS Splash
    Kisses from my beautiful wife

Smoother than silk, feeling well chilled, and smelling great - what more can I ask? Fernando’s Frosted Bay Rum is another South African treasure - the tallow formula gives it such awesome lather that’s so thick, rich, slick, and protective, the menthol sensation is heavenly, and the skincare is A1. The scent of the Prep seems to go so well with any bay rum scented soaps not to mention how soothing and moisturizing it is - there’s also a good menthol content in it, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on icy cold along with its beautiful old school barbershop scent that I love so much - finally Madame admitted that she likes it on me. Three passes left me ultra BBS - what a beautiful shave this was!

Enjoy your weekend - be well and safe!

    Personna GEM SS PTFE

    Lustray Spice After Shave

The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap lathered well with Bunny B-400 Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER V1 Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

It's Dutch, but it is very nice. I use it like a stick and rub it on my wet face. It smells fresh and lathers great.

Today was a nice end to the week of pleasant shaves with my vintage open comb razors. I end the week with a Micromatic shave.

Razor - Micromatic open comb with GEM Personna SS blade (3rd shave)
Mitchell's Wool Fat (I forgot to take the lid off for the photo!!!!)
    Simpson Trafalgar T3 brush
    Proraso Blue pre-shave
Thayers & Pinaud finish the shave.

The shave was another pleasant one. The blade is still sharp and efficient. I did manage to get 2 small nicks but, the alum bar took care of them both. One was low on my neck where I ventured off the cream protected areas! :angry032:

I did a 2-pass shave with cleanup. WTG & ATG.
Alum bar gave minimal feedback. I will call this one a good shave!
Tomorrow, it's back to the Hawk for the weekend. I am going to try the open comb base plate with a mild blade to see if I can get thru a shave with no nicks or cuts. That open comb plate is VERY aggressive so, I had been using it with the ProGuard blades.

Soap : Speick, nice mild spicy scent, with excellent lather qualities. Completed 1st stick of soap.
Brush : Yaqi Tailcoat 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber, excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.

It’s Friday so it was natural to pull out the frameback. Although, honestly, I can’t say I’ve ever really enjoyed shaving with a frameback. Oh well, the face is smooth once again :happy088:

    (Face & Head Shave.)

    Greetings,

New shave set up to start the weekend...I intend to carry on with my tribute month using the Gem Featherweight & the Schick Type G Injector but to feed my urges & need for variety with my SOTD set ups, for the rest of the month i will be adding an assortment of other shaving soaps/creams, ASL's & post shave balms & gels that i haven't used in a while. 'If the truth be told, to start using them up, because I've had some of them for a considerable amount of time, along with the Ever-Ready 1912 (US) "my first SE vintage ER, & the most recently added the Schick I1 Injector 1955-58, another two kindly gifted SE razors, and finally to further my appreciation & enjoyment of these remarkable vintage shaving tools, I'll also be adding my modern Supply V2, & Parker InjRzr to carry on with my eclectic shave set ups.

The P&B Citra Royale soap i haven't used for a while, which provided me with a excellent slick protective lather, with a really nice fragrance which reminds of lime opal fruits/starburst chew sweets, leaving a wonderful post shave feel.

With the mini heatwave we've had in the UK recently my cold water shaves have been refreshing & a great tonic for my mature skin type.

A comfortable face & head shave to start another weekend on a high note...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Fresh Moisturising Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth and smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

I got a very nice shave with the Hawk open comb and a mild blade. This is a first for me! No cuts, nicks, or weepers!

Razor - Hawk v3 with open comb base plate
Blade - Captain Titan Mild (2)
Soap - Sir Hare Classic Barber
    Brush - Simpson Trafalgar T3
    Pre-shave - Proraso Blue
    Thayers toner & Proraso balm

I was a bit apprehensive going into the shave using an un-guarded blade but, it turned out to be very nice. I rode the cap and this is what was needed. I simply did not have the correct angle before. I may try a Professional blade next! 3-pass shave WTG, ATG, XTG with minimal cleanup. Alum bar gave almost no feedback. Very light touch & ride the cap works!

I also used a lighter coat of cream so,I could see what I was doing. Slow going. This blade is wider but, that doesn't mean you need to shave more faster! Easy does it!

I think I have tamed this beast! :)

    It is a Christian story.

The Legend of the Sand Dollar

    There's a pretty little legend
That I would like to tell
Of the birth and death of Jesus
    Found in this lowly shell

    If you examine closely,
You'll see that you find here
Four nail holes and a fifth one
    Made by a Roman's Spear.

On one side the Easter Lily,
    Its center is the star
    That appeared unto the wisemen
    And led them from afar.

    The Christmas poinsettia
    Etched on the other side
    Reminds us of His birthday
    Our Happy Christmastide.

    Now break the center open
    And here you will release
    The five white doves awaiting
To spread Good Will and Peace.

    This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me
To help us spread his Gospel
    Through all eternity.
