I had a pronounced donut ring at the bottom of the B&M soap so I scooped the soap out and into a Polish bowl I like so I can finish off the soap properly. I’ll use a longer loft brush tomorrow.

Agreed. Years ago when I came across Cinnamon Girl on IanS Soaps website while buying Ginger Bay Rum and Bay Rum, I had to have it as Neal's song was a favorite of mine when I was hitting puberty.

Lemony scented icicles in my face - the Glacial Lemon Chill trio sure did the job for me. The soap lathered like a maniac with lots of slickness and the menthol hit like a sledgehammer, not to mention how soothed my skin felt. The matching balm and aftershave were a perfect icy cold finish and last but not least the beautiful Aramis fragrance. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was so much fun!

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #371 Badger/Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1957 Gillette Rocket and a Gillette Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Decided to go old school this week. Found a handle for the Gem razor head I have had hanging around. Borrowed it from another Gem I have. Still need to get its own handle though. The Burma Shave boar brush whipped up nice lather from the vintage Williams SS. My, my, what a fine shave was had. My face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks

 

Preshave: Hot shower
Soap/Shave cream: Cremo Classic

GEMonday, July 17th 2023, Micromatic Monday, any ASR razor that uses a Gem blade any day of the week!

Razor : Gem Heavy Flat top (G bar) - Mfg 1955-58, tame mid range, well made and interesting foot heal on the handle + designed to last for generations with some care. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Mitchells Wool fat (Tallow), very mild clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Mountain Lake" 24mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Good all around brush performance.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gem G bar with a coated Gem blade.
