When I first joimed here, the majority of posts I read mentioned Pitralon. That was 8 years ago,

 

Sunday Schick shave, July 30th 2023

Razor : Schick E2 injector Canadian variant- Mfg 1930's -40's, mid range, well designed and built to last. It performs well for myself and had a great shave this morning.
Blade : Personna SS PTFE injector(9) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Cyril R Salter Wild Rose cream, it has a destinct rose scent 5-6/10 strength + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Artic Sky" 24mm 3band silver tip badger, excellent lather generator, luxury pillow like soft tips, nice gentle splay + excellent lather painter. One of my favorites for face feel and performance and great handle to hold on to.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Witch hazel beard cleanse + Nivea refreshing lotion + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 weeper= excellent shave with my Schick E2 injector razor with a Personna coated injector blade.

Forgot I had this razor so I decided to give it a spin this evening. Two passes, nice shave. The new mixed knot Semogue will be nice once broken in. Currently it just isnt releasing the soap very well.

The TSD Iced Lime Shave Stick lathered well with the Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Red and Black OT Razor by T. White and a Gillette Nacet Stainless Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Well, another new soap and aftershave from my dear friend Abir Laskar in Kolkata, India - he’s the owner of Captain Nemo. This Green Ice is a real delight. The soap is vegan based, the scent is a lovely combination of vetiver and lime, it gives fabulous lather that has plenty of slickness, there’s a pretty strong menthol sensation, and it’s got great skincare. The Prep felt so soothing as well as moisturizing when I massaged it on, the Green Ice aftershave toner smells as beautiful as the soap, and it gives lots of menthol chill. This Cypress Vetiver cologne from Proraso smells really nice - it compliments the Green Ice soap and aftershave very well. Three passes gave me a dynamite BBS shave that was so enjoyable!

Shave of the Week Starting 7/31/2023

The Renleigh SS needs to wake up a little more and let loose of the protective lather I hope is in the puck. Lathered easily enough but didn't provide the qualities a good soap should. I'll give it a few days to wake up though. The G-Bar is easy to use and did the job quite well. But thank goodness for my Osage Rub/Witch Hazel mix cuz I needed the soothing effects it gives. All in all, a marginal shave to start the week. Hope it gets better. If not, look for an update. Now go enjoy your day folks.

 

My shaves have developed into a pattern of late.....the last three were fine but for a Knick on South Porcupine(chin). This must stop. I know it will someday. I might have done better down below the Knick, at the jawline. Nice job everywhere else. 2 passes. Maybe tallow soaps work best for me, other than 3x milled. The usual finish-A.S. followed by Halston cologne. Most Outstanding..(could be better).

I have not used this soap for years so it seemed like a good time to break it out. It made solid lather and retains it's lavender scent. I paired it with B-M Fougere Classique splash, which complimented it nicely.
