The Proraso Red Sandalwood Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the RazoRock Black Hawk Razor and the Feather Professional AC blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud Classic Vanilla After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

In signing on with A&E, they asked me for my cell-phone #, not e-mail. This morning I got my first cell message, saying charges may apply to future messages. I thus cut off future messages, and decided I'll make my purchases as a stranger.

At the risk of repeating myself (if I said this to you earlier), Barbershop was my first Stoylin soap, and I had Clubman for the "matching" aftershave. They go well together.

DE SOTD, Thursday, July 4th, 2024, Happy Independence day to Americans.

Razor : Yaqi 2nd Generation Mellon head with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023>, mid range. Excellent machining and finish QC. This is slightly more aggressive than the V1 Mellon head but works well for myself. Not sure it would be a daily shaver for some folks but it almost is a permanent razor in my weekly wants out of 60 + razor rotation. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade :Gillette Perma-sharp(1) sharp and smooth with great longevity.
Soap : Razorock Irish Country side, nice scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Rain-bow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Good brush I bought 4 years ago on sale and never regretted this purchase.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1weeper (operator error)= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi 316 SSP Mellon razor with a Gillette Perma-sharp blade.

Pre-Shave: Warm water shower with St. Ives Apricot Scrub
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable, setting 3
Blade: Tatra Platinum (2)
Soap: Mama Bear's Aromatic Pipe Tobacco
Brush: RazoRock Snowman
Post-Shave: Aqua Velva Ice Balm

Opened the Slim from setting 2 to setting 3 today and all went well. Shave was closer than yesterday's, but still not BBS. That said, I had less stubble at the end of my workday than usual, so there's a win. The Tatra blade dragged yet again today for the first few swipes, but put the "safety" in safety razor: No nicks, cuts, weepers, razor burn, or irritation--despite me having made a few ill-advised maneuvers with the razor. Tomorrow, the Slim gets opened up to setting 4, and I'm anticipating an even better shave.

Now that my face has seemingly recovered from a run of really bad shaves a couple of weeks ago, I'll likely be back to my themed shave rotation soon; Citrus Saturday is looking like a go.

That poor ol' bottle of AV Ice Balm is looking pretty tired. It's got enough lotion left for maybe two more shaves.

Razor: Schick Injector model L
Blade(s): Schick II double blade
Shaving oil: home made
Shave: 1 pass + touch-ups
Result: really enjoyable close BBS shave
