    Thursday:
hot shower w/Pre de Provence Lime Zest bar soap
    Maggard Lime PSO
    Schick Krona 2+ passes
    Gillette Wilkinson (1)
    VDH Deluxe boar
TOBS Coconut cream (sample) in a warm mug
    Humphrey's Citrus
    Pinaud Citrus Musk edc

    Fabulous shave today.
I really like the PdP Lime Zest bar soap. Besides being a good soap and having a zesty lime scent it has little tiny scrubbers embedded in the soap that exfoliate.

Have a great day, fellow shavers!

    Thor's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood shave stick :angry032:
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma alum, Dickinson's WH, Captain's Choice Cat o' Nine Tails AS splash
Cologne: Gigember Estragone by Dr. Vranjes

I don't know; maybe I put too much importance on how good the lather is. I've mentioned before that I struggled to find a way that I could produce thick, slick lather with the Ogallala shave stick; I thought I'd found the solution for me in treating it like a regular puck and swirling the brush right on the soap. I was apparently wrong, as I spent more time loading and re-loading the brush in an effort to make decent-looking lather than I did shaving. The effort - or the rest of the tools in my shaving arsenal today - paid off, as I got DFS results without any nicks or irritation. . . other than the irritation of trying to build a decent lather.

    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Brush: Omega B&B
    Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge
Post: Cool rinse and Captain's Choice Lime

Decided to shift up a little and go with the mild Tech. Excellent job as usual. Omega boar bristle is getting more broken in and gets a little softer and whips a better lather every time. I intend to use this setup for the month of August so thought I would get a little jumpstart on it.

Excellent shave. This inexpensive soap works very well for me, prolific lather, good slip and protection and no post shave skin issues. Have a good one.

    Prep: Warm shower, Cetaphil Lotion
Razor: EJ DE89 Head w/ Weber Classic Handle
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (4)
    Lather: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Brush: Oscar11 w/ Omega 20248 Knot
    Post: Witch Hazel, Cetaphil Lotion
    Aftershave: Old Spice

I don't know why I even bother to use any of my other brushes. My Oscar11 is so superior to the rest. It's not just the knot that is better. The handle fits my hand perfectly and is a pleasure to hold.

I've got a very busy day, but got it started off on the right foot. Fantastic BBS shave!

    Have a great day!

I think I am just resigned to not create good lather with the Arko puck. I’ve tried more water, less water, badger & boar brushes, super loading, etc...

I used my sample puck of the CRSW Classic Savon #2 today. It lathers well with a nice fresh minty scent. The Slim and Polsilver chugged along fine together. Excellent close, smooth, nick free shave. I finished up with Fine American Blend.

Picked up the Set Sail in a trade and this is the lightest scent shave soap that used so far from Amanda. Can pick up the Mint and Rosemary but the Lavender was very faint so I took it upon myself to add in some more Lavender to bring it more to my liking. Same great pre and post shave feel that I have come to expect from Amanda's line of tallow shave products produced another DFS in two passes.

    Thursday - HTGAM Shave

    Prep: CeraVe facial cleanser
    Soap: HTGAM unscented
Brush: Mühle hjm black fiber brush
    Razor: Gillette fat handled Tech
    Blade: Gillette yellow blade
    After: Cold rinse, CeraVe lotion

The HTGAM soap performed great. The hjm black fiber brush felt good on my face and made plenty of lather despite the small knot size. Comfortable two pass shave.

The LA soap really reminds me of MdC. It is decent but really doesn't compare to some of the tallow soaps out there IMO. At $24 a tub it isn't a good value compared to MWF which costs less than half of that and outperforms it.

    Home again
I got home from the conference last night, and found a sample from Captain's Choice of their forthcoming sandalwood AS. I decided to use it with my HTGAM Chocolate Bourbon soap to celebrate the birthday of the latter. My Rubberset 400 worked like a charm with Synergy and soon I had plenty of lather. I put a trusty Personna lab blue (first 100 blade buy, from Merz) into my New Long Comb.
Man, was this a superb shave! This razor is giving my SC101 a serious challenge. The Gillette is more efficient than the iKon for me, nearly as smooth, and leaves a more closely shaved skin that lasts longer. The New is also more forgiving than my Old Type.
Now, the aftershave. I think the Captain really has something here. The scent is simply sandalwood EO, which means to me it's warm and comforting, similar to Proraso Red, but distinctive too. It has the usual alcohol kick to start, then dries down quickly with very nice skincare and feel. This one is a winner in my book.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: HTGAM Synergy Chocolate bourbon
    Brush: Rubberset 400
    Razor: Gillette New Long Comb
    Blade: Personna lab blue
    AS: Captain's Choice Sandalwood
