I love the look of the straight razors. Just haven't built up the courage to try one yet.

Tad, when you do, you'll soon discover a few things. This list isn't meant to discourage, but simply inform:
    1. Using a straight razor is not as hazardous to one's health as many people, both inside and outside the wet shaving community, believe it is. Hence, the growing popularity.
    2. Learning to use one properly and efficiently takes time and dedication. As with DE shaving, success stems from good technique. Time frame? We're talking months, not days, to develop technique.
    3. Straight razor shaving requires more effort and commitment from the user in order to maintain the equipment and prep for shaving. The act of daily shaving takes longer than the majority of DE shaves.
    4. Once you start using a straight razor, you may never go back to any other method. ;)

That brush is very cool, reminds me of rustic-style pottery, even tho the bottom end looks clear, not white. Still cool!

I strayed a little bit from my normal double edge shave this morning and used a 1950-1953 Ever-Ready Schick G1 injector razor. I was surprised at the quality of shave this gave considering how light it is. These razors are considerably less expensive than the vintage Gillette razors that is my norm. I will keep these razors and the shave they give my little secret.[IMG]

This was my dad's SOTD. I dunno why he won't join here..
Razor: '67 Gillette Super Speed (Birth year)
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Omega 10049
    Lather: TOBS Almond
My dad loves the Knockoutshave bowl. He said it made lathering a breeze. He said he can't wait to see how explosive Razorock is. I will be using the Knockoutshave bowl tomorrow and let you know how it is. I gotta say, I'm stoked. I can't wait to place my own order.
