Today was Menthol Monday for me as next week I will be using some stuff I was lucky enogh to get from Tuxxdk. I have tried one of the soaps he sent and it is great but next week will be the first time the kids wont be home so i can have a relaxing uniteruppted shave for the first time this summer .:)

    So todays shave was:
    Preshave - Proraso preshave
    Lather - Proraso Green Soap
    Razor - Super Speed
Brush - Proraso Boar Travel Brush
Blade - Gilette Rubie platinum plus
    Aftershave - Proraso White

As always a great shave when using Proraso products and a Super speed. I always enjoy Menthol Mondays, especially when I can do it a day earlier.

    Razor: Dorco Comfort Thin II
    Brush: Muhle Black Fiber
    Lather: LA Shaving Soap Topanga
    Post: Pinaud

Best cartridge shave I've ever had. I've fairly recently shaved with the Pace3, Hydro3, Hydro 5 disposable, Wilkinson 2-blade disposable (made by Personna) and was not impressed with any. The Comfort Thin II however was very comfortable, maneuverable, pretty sharp. The lube strip also doesn't even get sticky and nasty like Gillette or Schick.

Only thing I didn't like was the cheap handle. It had the quality of the Hydro 5 disposable. But the cartridges are compatible with Atra handles.

    Sunday morning -

Prep - Noxzema & hot towel
Lather - Valobra Crema di Sapone Purissima & suribachi
    Brush - Omega 40033
    Razor - Eversharp-Schick G5
Blade - Personna PTFE Stainless (18)

    2 pass
Warm water rinse & cold water splash
    Alum block & Witch-hazel AS

All the talk yesterday on TSD about the Schicks had me reaching for a G5 this morning. :) Love the "sea-foam green" turquoise handle on these! I'd already made the modification for hand-loading so the spring pivots to one side, which is handy when you're using the Personna Mini Shaper Blades that come in the non-keyed dispenser! And the Valobra gave an absolutely gorgeous lather, plus the now familiar almond scent I'm growing so fond of. An excellent shave all around!

Completely agree with you on all points. However may is still a big if for me. I'm getting massive tugging even with the grain (on chin only) unlike any other razor I've ever experienced. It cuts fine on the rest of my face though. Any tips?

Early shave this morning before the Sunday morning Critique Meeting on the East/West Shrine Football Game that was played last night. Hit the road and did some sight seeing in Joseph, Oregon and heading for Boise tomorrow morning. Yesterday and the day before was so busy I missed a day shaving and the razor had to plow through some heavy beard this morning. There was the shrine Parade through Baker City in the morning and the football game later in the afternoon. The football game was interrupted a number of times with violent lightning hitting all around the stands. It took 5 hours + to finish the game! It will be televised on Root Sports Channel Monday night August 4th at 7 PM. It took a while to catch up on all the posts from the last two days. Sorry no pictures but I don't have the time to take and post any with all that is going on. :rah: :football: :rah: :eatdrink047:

    SUNDAY Night
Busy day all day yesterday with a day-long church event that ended about midnight, and an early start this morning!
So tonight….I had a nice, relaxing long and luxurious shave. I'm enjoying the IK cream and I dug out the big ol' BBB razor for an attack on near 2-days growth.
Sweet shave time after a crazy weekend.
Sounds as if you had a busy weekend too, Bruce!

Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Amazing BBS shave. I don't see it getting any better than a ER 1924 and carbon steel blade. I got one small weeper under my nose, but that went away with the cold water rinse.

Arko is a soap I avoided for a long time. I really do enjoy it, even though I like other soaps more.
