    Cool shower
Prep: Lime & Tea Tree PSO
    Brush: WD silvertip, 24/47
    Soap: Stirling MITA
Razor: Weber 3 piece with polished head
    Blade: GSB (1)
    Post: Stirling Lemon Chill WH
    Aftershave: Clubman Special Reserve

First shave with the Weber. It is a well crafted tool. I usually do 3 passes, but 2 passes were all that I needed today to yield a DFS.

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    Ian de Candre
    Made Rite Boar Brush
    1914 Ever-Ready
    GEM Super Stainless
    CWR
    Thayers Cucumber WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

It was another fine shave today with the Ian de Candre. It burst into lather as I face-lathered with my Made Rite boar brush, providing a nice cushion. Two passes with the 1914 Ever-Ready razor and GEM Super Stainless blade left me with a close, comfortable shave. I used an alum block today for the first time and then did my cold water rinse. I followed up with Thayers Cucumber WH and Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Razor: ER 1912
    Blade: GEM
    Brush: Muhle Black Fiber
    Lather: Proraso red
    Post: Pinaud

Proraso is the most beard softening soap I've ever used but it really lacks cushion. Mixing it up with Arko makes for a very good lather but I feel a soap should be able to stand by itself. I've been a participant in no-buy july on TSD. I've had zero access to injector blades and been shaving exclusively with my GEMs/ERs and really miss my injectors. The blade for them is just much sharper (and I find longer lasting). I'm finding I really prefer my I-type for all but one of my SEs- the Ever Ready 1924.

I've been thinking of adding another brush- the Muhle Silvertip badger brush. All these years I've gone without a silver tip. The Black Fiber is a bit scratchy...

the Black Fiber? Yes compared to my boar brushes it makes lather very quickly and extremely efficiently. With the savings of reduced soap consumption I'm getting the brush is paying for itself.

And another L.O.S.E.R. is born :eatdrink013: Maybe it was too much pressure but I'm thinking another contributing factor might have to do with the number of passes. SEs don't need as much passes to get a good shave. I use 2 passes or even just one (if I had a close shave the previous day) + touch up. The only time I use 3 is when I have a large several day growth.

    THURSDAY
    Late Night shave for Tomorrow

Using shave cream for the first time in a while  (yeah, I'm a soap guy…guilty!) and as with all the Institut Karite line, their shaving cream is quite nice. Very slick lather which leaves the skin feeling VERY moisturized post-shave, even after the alum.
Looking forward to another hot day tomorrow! :happy005:
    Have a blessed Thursday, all!

Being as it's hotter than blue blazes and the humidity is bad, I took my shower and just got done shaving. I again used the Above the Tie M-1 Razor. I did use the WTG-XTG-ATG method again tonight. I have used it everyday this past week and it seems to be working well for me. Last night, I did not get a "Rudy Castiel Clean Used Car" aka Rudy Castiel Clean Shave. Using this method so why change, what works.I did get a DFS Shave I do like the cooling effect of the Alum Block, or Witch Hazel. I can't say I had razor burn, but places on my neck felt raw. So I did go ahead and use both and put some on after my shower, and will use the Alum again it the morning.

Haven't posted in a long time, but I just got finished shaving with my brand new Merkur Futur and it inspired me to post. I've been using a Gillette Black Beauty primarily for almost a year now. I also have a Fatboy and a Merkur 1904, but the 'Beauty has been better for me than the rest. Until now. The weight of the Futur is awesome, and the first use tonight left me with better results than anything I've achieved with my other razors. There's something to be said for new designs sometimes, and I think the Futur pretty much nails it.

    Thursdays shave
    Something more aggressive today.
    Razor - R41
    Blade - Feather
    Soap - Cella
    Aftershave - Williams Ice Blue

Very close shave, no touch ups needed at all. Only problems is that feather put glue on their wrappers and it made getting the blade out of the razor pretty hard. Love that Cella smell, just trying to work out what aftershave goes with it,

Another awesome shave with so little effort which was made possible thanks to my trusty Super Speed/Rapira combination. Rod's Black Ice soap lathers so easily and richly, its black licorice scent is very nice, and although the menthol effect is nowhere nearly as strong as its "cousin" which is the Glacial Obsidian, it's still very much there and it's very enjoyable. The Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel is so cold that it actually beats the famous Rubby Dubby Doo - believe it or not! ;) :D
