SoS: July 29,2013 - August 4, 2013

A straight forward shave. The Fromm is a nice little razor that I never have to worry about. The blade is long enough to make shaving quick, but short enough to manuver anywhere. For today's shave I created a superlather using Karo Classic and Kell's Original Ultra Aloe Vanilla Bean. The combination made for a thick, creamy lather that smelled nice and left my skin feeling ultra soft. I did three passes, wtg/xtg/atg, and ended with a cold water rinse and some SAL Alum. An easy DFS for a slow Sunday.

Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable (7,5)
Blade: Feather (2)
Two pass shave WTG, and ATG with touch ups
Post: Rinse
Aftershave: Floid Blue

Prep: Shower, mild scrub with Shea Moisture Facial Scrub
Pre: Homemade P/S oil (Castor, grapeseed, olive oils, Juniper Berry EO)
Brush: Custom 20mm silvertip badger
Scuttle: LadySea in Tiger's Eye finish
Razor: Joseph Elliot Patent Frameback
Soap: Pyrate Cove Bay Rhum and Lime
2 pass WTG, 1 pass XTG and touch ups for DFS+
Post: Alum, cold water rinse, Oil of Olay Toner, Shea Moisture ASB, raw shea butter

Fantastic shave and amazingly quick. No irritation, no weepers... face is feeling very refreshed, which is great just before bed. I've gotten to the point where I have to literally pause and rethink everything when I try to use my DE.

I just had to use this Gillette Regular Cream since I was so fortunate for it to be gifted to me. It did not disappoint. Smells nice and clean with very old timey soap smell. Not like old tallow soaps but more like what the Gillette Creams in a can smelled like back in the 60's and 70's. Takes me back to wasting my Grandpas cream and getting in trouble for it. when I was a wee lad.

The Gillette Reg Cream and this boar created a nice thick slick lather. I bowl lathered which is unusual for me but I just wanted to see this cream in action. I loaded the lather pretty heavily with water so it was nice and slick but still held together well.

The MM was as expected. Hefty, smooth, and efficient. Mowed down two days growth in three with a touch up that more habitual than anything else. I am super smooth and comfortable.

The Humphreys always makes my shaves better and the Barbasol ++(menthol) is just awesome stuff.
