    1951 Gillette Aristocrat (W-1)
    Personna Stainless Blade

    GT G4 Scuttle
    Semogue 820 Boar
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Nivea Replenishing ASB
    Aqua Velva Musk ASL/Cologne

Great shave with the Aristocrat this morning. (I seem to be on a Gold Theme these past few days.) The Personna Stainless blade is another locally available and reasonably inexpensive blade that gives very good shaves. (For me at least.)

Hot shower to undo the stiffness.
RazoRock Glycerin, does a great job prepping the face for the morning shave.
I'm reusing a incense burner to warm my later. I place the tea light in the bottom and place my mug of lather atop and warming later.
Today's soap choice Mystic Waters Marrakesh. I have been using an assortment of shave cream samples this past week, time for a change.
Continued with the Gillette Rocket and Silver Blue for the fourth day. Blade and razor change for Sunday.
After three delightful passes a warm water rinse, cold water splash, Osage Rub, and Proraso.
    A delightful DFS.

That lather warmer setup is rather ingenious.

I didn't have anytime to prep today and risked getting a very painful shave... the exact opposite happened.

Prep: woke up, splashed water on my face, lathered up to try and get a half ----- prep done.
    Brush: Oscar Grade A.
    Razor: Schick Krona.
    Blade: Personna Lab.
Cream: Mem Original (first time use.)
Post: cold water rinse, Barbon AS.

The Mem Original is pretty good. It lathered up really easily, didn't dry out, and made the shave pretty effortless. Every time I use my Krona, I think to myself "I should give this razor more attention." I need to start doing that. The Barbon is a top notch menthol splash. It starts out cold, mellows out, and tones the skin pretty well. If you like menthol, don't pass this one up.

Gillette Super Thin blades have given me some poor shaves, but today I found a good combo. The Gillette Old Type head and the Super Thin blade work beautifully together. I did a superlather of Provence Sante Green Tea and Local Pig shave cream, which worked out well. I don't like PS, but with the Local Pig I get a thick, creamy lather with amazing skin care properties. I'm using a reknotted Muhle HJM brush with a 20mm TGN synthetic knot. The knot is not a soft as my EMJ synthetic, but I like it.

I did a three pass wtg/atg/xtg shave followed by a copd water rinse and SAL Alum. The results were a DFS with nice soft skin, zero nicks, and zero irritation. I'm disappointed that the modern Super Thins aren't as nice as the vintage Super Thins, but I'm glad that I found a razor that they work well in.

Pre: Hot shower and warm water splash
Razor: Gillette Old Type on a Gillette ball end Tech handle
    Blade: Gillette Super Thin
Brush: Muhle HJM reknotted with a 20mm TGN synthetic knot
Soap: Superlather of Provence Sante Green Tea and Local pig

Prep: hot shower, Nivea pre shave scrub, conditioner in beard
    Razor: Gem Featherweight
    Blade: PAL Stainless
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: AOS pure badger
    Shave: 4 passes
Post: Warm water, cold water, HBG Men Bay Rum Aftershave Splash, Dirty English Balm
    Pomade: Murray's Superior
    Cologne: John Varvatos Vintage

An effortless BBS shave. I'd put it in top 10 all time. PAL blades I got from the nationwide box tour, and they are much sharper than the CVS brand ones. The Tabac was also from the box but wasn't labeled, and was just a mystery soap. After pressing it into a cup though I recognized the feel of it, such a soft soap and a flowery smell. Great stuff. The Featherweight is such a great razor and haven't used it in a while, will have to work it into my rotation.

    Dovo Bismarck 5/8

    Balea unscented moisturizer

I barely had enough time to shave this morning let alone use a straight razor because I'm invited with the family to a friend's place for breakfast. Everything fell into place perfectly however, and I had a most enjoyable shave. The Lider Classic cream smells really nice and it reminds me a little of the Gada Cool Mint cream without the menthol. The Booster aftershaves are hard to beat in quality although Madame hates them! ;) :D

Prep: Hot shower, AoS Unscented PSO
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: Ginger's Garden Coffee Jasmine
    Razor: Merkur 1904 OC
    Blade: Dorco-301 (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG
Post: Cold water splash, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals ASB
Cologne: Lippizan by Parfums de Marly

A couple of minor nicks/weepers around the Adam's Apple indicate the Dorco's not aging especially well, or I lapsed in concentration and managed not to notice. On the plus side, the nicks closed up with the CWS, so I didn't feel a need for alum. Nearly BBS otherwise.
