A terrific shave although there was a definite lack of menthol. The Viking Sensitive cream from Bulgaria is the original formula and it smells nice, lathers like crazy, soothes and protects against dryness or irritation but although menthol is listed in the ingredients it could hardly be felt. At least the Barbon aftershave (the bottle's finished now) gave me some extra much-needed cooling which felt so good on a hot and humid day. The Derby blade is still performing like a champ.

Stirling Island Man today. 20 seconds to load the oscar11 Boar. Great, easy, thick, lather. Personna Med Prep still in the NEW SC. Great smooth, close, shave. I finished with CC Frozen Vetiver.

On a whim, I bowl-lathered the One-X today; this particular jar is really starting to show the bottom of the container, so I may get through it entirely by month's end. The lather was even more voluminous than usual this way, but I felt like I missed out on getting my stubble to stand quite as erect as it does when I face-lather. No nicks, weepers, or other problems, but I think this DFS shave could have been closer with a different lathering technique.

today's shave was nice. the soc reminds me of Woodstock from the peanuts. three long slow passes with the pearlex, and a victory lap with tomorrow's slim. very close and comfy. finished with renewal balm. and a touch of Prada.

Getting Ready to Go Back Home: RazorGuy Shave​

I am about to go back home and before leaving - like every gentleman should do - it is better to shave. A very good and vain shave, I would add. That's why I wanted to use all of my shaving products I brought with me as well as the only straight razor I had in my bag. As for the razor, I could not ask for anything better - the very last Mastro Livi New Grind, as for the shaving products, I am certainly happy for that. My pre-shave oil, my shaving soap and my latest aftershave, fresh and refreshing, it was the perfect companion for this very hot milanese day. I am already looking forward to work on my new shaving soap formula and this is what I will certainly do on someday next week. I am very happy with my shaving soap but I want it to be even better. As for the razor, a feather sliding on my skin, velvety and smooth, for a deep and very satisfactory shave.​

Day three with my new Feather razor, and it's quality is still very impressive, as is the ease of cleaning. The fresh Feather blade locked in and off we go to another great shave. Whipped up some great lather with the Maca Root and the Silvertip. I let the weight of the razor do all the work, for a nice relaxing 2 pass shave. I found myself going much faster with this razor and finished quicker than normal. Another great BBS shave, Finished with the WH, and then some soothing JB. After cleanup some Bay Rum. Still working on polishing my W&B but had to put it to the hones and try shaving with it. Oh My! No wonder these are so sought after! Took an awesome edge so quickly and the shave was the best ever. Love the heft and solid feel of the blade. I think it's a 1/4 hollow but not sure. Will post pic and get the pro's opinion.

Back home after an amazing week with 40 other agriscience teachers from 7 states where we learned and practiced ways to help our students think deeply and learn more. Glad to be back to my own soft-focus mirror and little round sink!
