The scent is nice but not overpowering. It also lathers pretty easily, too.

I am using my 2nd puck of Valobra Fougere which is potent as you have noted but the first puck I tried beginning of this year had almost no scent at all so I gave it away. I have read some other users also noted no scent in the VF so would have to assume a mix up at the factory or a QA issue. The puck I have now, a user had noted too strong for him so we traded soaps and now that I have it, yes quite strong. Current puck has been airing out two weeks and will cap it this weekend.

So I have had a lot of soaps delivered lately, some as a late June order and a lot from a PIF from the generous Tuxx.dk (thanks Tuxx) . Basically I have a lot of new soaps to try, but I think I have found my new favourite in Cella. First time I used it, I need to practice with the water, soap ratio, that being said it is easy to lather, feels fantastic, and smells great. Everyone here loves the smell. Great shave today :)

Have you heard of any issues regarding the consistency of the lather from the less than powerfully scented soaps?

I didn't read of any issues with the lather or slickness just poor or no scent, and both pucks I used were great in that department. The Fougere lathers better than the almond scent that I have but admittedly have not used in quite some time.

I also have Col. Conk lime and Col. Conk amber. It is a good cheap soap.

    1936 Gillette Aristocrat 2+ passes
    SuperMax SP Tiger (1)
    Waterford Crystal badger
T&H Grafton cream in a warm bowl
    Thayers unscented w/aloe

Nice shave today with a couple unexpected weepers. The angle is very much like my 1937 Sheraton but this razor is heavier.

Picked up my new brush with wet fingers and immediately dropped it in the sink which led to a lot of bad words being uttered. Beautiful brush but not easy for me to hang onto.

Hello wool fat my old friend...
It's nice to shave with you again... Even though this was a little rough today. A couple of weepers, but smooth skin. The shave felt great while I was shaving, and the weepers appeared after my final pass. Certainly not a terrible shave, just not the quality I've been getting lately. The lather monster made great yogurt, and I made an effort to build it on my face longer than usual. Perhaps that is the culprit. I've read that one should build lather for 60 seconds on the face. It usually doesn't take me anywhere near that long, but today I built longer. Could this have added subtle irritation and make weepers more likely today? My HIS is not scrubby at all, so I really don't know. I do know that I will go back to what works for me.
I also went back to one of my favorite aftershaves to compare it with a new favorite. I think HTGAM has surpassed my beloved Krampert's. The latter is milder and maybe better for rougher shaves, and it has an awesome flask, but I think my skin likes HTGAM Synergy Tonic better.

    Prep: RR/HTGAM lime menthol
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush: HIS XL
    Razor: iKon ShaveCraft 101
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)
