After 3 shaves in a row with Mystic Water's Roselimone, I've come to the conclusion that it's a great scent and well balanced, but I'd like it to be a little stronger scented. My wife things it's fine as is. It still provides great performance with incredibly easy lather.

    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

I don't know,I use menthol year round, some folks say Tabac is a winter only scent,I use it year round.I think the longest menthol hit for me was 30 or so minutes,I was quite liberal with the M-Bomb and Osage Rub,I think some 444 was involved as well :D

    All Week:
    Merkur 37C + Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
    Cella + TSD MBomb
    Simpsons Berkeley
    Clubman Moustache Wax

Berkeley is still shedding. I'm debating between emailing Simpsons going "HEY! It's not a bloody year old yet!" or just re-knotting it myself with a 2band knot from somewhere.

    07/12/2012 "Bay Rum Thursday"

My day starts with a lengthy hot shower. While showering the brush for the day is warming.

Brush choice was the Semogue 1460.
Featured soap Kell's "Hemp/Aloe Blend Bay Rum" A soap sample I received in a swap. It was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure how it it would lather, it lathered up into a very rich lather. The soap was slick and had good moisturizing qualities too.
Day two for the Gillette SS black handle, 7 o'clock yellow. I really enjoy the 7 o'clock yellow. The blade is sharp enough to only need two passes to get a great DFS. Two pass shves are becoming more the norm for me lately.
Tried something different with my cold water splash, I filled the sink bowl with ice. The splash was very chilling and refreshing. After a couple splashes facial rub down with RazoRock alum. To complete the Bay Rum theme, a generous splash of Superior 70.

He interrupted dinner out with his wife to reply to my inquiry. It certainly wasn't necessary, but it was appreciated.

Thanks Brad! That was one of the reasons I got it; I really liked that Wowzer design and color of the scales. It's a very nice shaving American Steel razor made in the good old US of A as well! :)

    Razor: Merkur 34c
    Blade: Wilkinson (day 2)
Brush: Whipped dog 20mm silver tip
    Soap: Col. Conk bay rum
AS cold water rinse) Ogallala bay rum & sandalwood

Result: Wow. My first ever BBS. I'm usually jealous when I see those three letters in everyone's posts. Something just clicked today. Zero irritation. My first shave with that brush as well. Best of all the soap and AS were PIF items.

    BBS!!

My opinion of the Astra SP has turned much more positive in this second round of testing. It's still not to the level of Voskhod or Personna Supers, but I'll keep the 100 blades I have, rather than trade them off.

Even though I bought this RR XXX several months ago, this is only the 2nd time I've tried it. I'm going to use is for a few days in a row to decide if I should buy another tub or two while they're still available.

    Shower: 100% Natural Peppermint Soap.
Shave: Omega Shave Cream. (Made a nice warm lather this morning)
    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Shark Super Chrome.

Also, this time, instead of scooping a small amount of soap out of the tub, I lathered a hot brush right in the tub. Got plently of lather and I did not have any left over wasted soap clumps in the bottom of the mug as I would when I used to scoop it out. So from now on, I am going to spin a hot damp brush in the tub. Nice!
