    Razor: Gillette Redtip, (A-3) 1955
    Blade: Gillette, Platinum (3)
    Brush: Fendrihen Silvertip 22/49
Soap: Razo Rock, XXX- Fresh and clean; a cross between a classic Italian colonial and an old-school barbershop!
Old Spice coffee mug/soak brush, for about a minute.
    A/S: TSD-Coconut
Another great shave with this combination. Changed the soap as I like the old barbershop scent.
    Enjoy your weekend.

    ZCOLDWATER1.jpg

    Dove Men Face Wash
    TOBS Lavender
    Olivewood WD Silvertip
    Gillette Black Tip SS
    Rapira Platinum Lux
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Pinaud Clubman AS

The TOBS Lavender Shave Cream face-lathered well with my Olivewood WD Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes with my Gillette Black Tip Super Speed razor and a Rapira Platinum Lux blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

PRESHAVE: Face wash with soap and warm/hot water
RAZOR: iKon OSS with Bamboo handle
    BLADE: Voskhod (new)
    SOAP: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    BOWL: VDH
    BRUSH: VDH Boar
POST: Rinse with warm/hot water to get soap off and then some cold water rinses/splashes and pat try.

Comments: The shave today was very good. The iKon OSS with a Voskhod blade worked pretty well. Even though I have to do an extra pass to get the shave I was getting from the Wolfman but the iKon does a good job and I can apply a bit more pressure in the areas that will usually need touching up during the passes and in return I have less touch up to do. I mainly use the OC side of it throughout the shave! Soap was very good as usual the MWF never lets me down! The lather, protection and feel throughout the shave and the post shave feel was great! The blade was fine but doesn't feel as sharp to me as my other go-to's! No irritation at all and no weepers/nicks.

Please feel free to leave comments on any items us
ed as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

    Thx.

Thanks for what you do for the FFA in our state. Ag is one of those things we take for granted, yet it is critical that these skills persist in our society. Kudos!

    Chabrawichi 555 Cologne

I'll never go two days in a row without using menthol - in fact I'll be using tons of it in the coming days. The Glacial Lemon Chill is a puck from last year's batches but is it ever fantastic. The lather whips up so easily and rich, the scent is beautiful, and the menthol effect really faces down the Cryogen soap - that's how frigid it is. Like with all of Rod's soaps that I have, the skincare is unbeatable. The Gold Bond moisturizer (Ah, shut up with that already, Jeff!) gives me plenty of chilly moisturizing and soothing. I still have a couple of drops left in my Rubby Dubby Doo bottle so let's see if I can finish them off, and then I'll start the new one. The Chabrawichi 555 cologne from Egypt smells very nice - it's a blend of lavender and lemon. Very cheap also. I remember when I was in Cairo some years ago I paid less than two bucks for a big bottle of it. ;) :D

Jeff, after you shave do you apply the Gold Bond and then the Rubby Dubby Do? If so, is the Gold Bond fast absorbing? I'm thinking about buying the Gold Bond hydrating for men. Thanks! Kerry

Yes, Kerry. First I give my face a nice massage with the Gold Bond and then I splash on the Rubby Dubby Doo. The Gold Bond absorbs fast but the moisturizing and protection remain and can be noticed and felt all day. :)

World Tournament of Blades - Russia vs. the World!!
    June 5, 2015
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
    Razor - EJ DE 89L
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Post - Alum, Nivea Balm

Day five of the tournament and it's the Sputnik up for consideration. This is a blade I've always liked to a point but haven't really used it enough to determine where it ranks among my favorites. So today, we judge. Two passes today to a DFS, which is a very nice result and a good one to get as I was a bit off my game. We have a few negatives that have arisen, actually more than a few, so not much sleep last night. But, I focused in and got a good shave. Back to Arko and the Pro 48. Can't miss with that lather (unless you try it totally sleepless). The blade is sharp but not overwhelmingly so. Have to give it a 2 as the smoothness was also a bit less than I like. That earns a 2 as well. Irritation? Quiet alum and a nice feel. A 1 for that. And the result was DFS. That's a 2. Total score - 7. Not too bad but it may have to step up its game if it advances. Tomorrow - The Sharp Star, a relative newbie to my list of favorites. It's the difficult to find Russian from Moscow that I really like a lot....but how will it stack up in the tournament? We'll know in less than 24 hours!

Hope you all had a great Friday. I'm off to bed in a few to get ready for a busy Saturday.

1924 was such a good year - so I'm told. Well it was for razors and in today's rotation it was the 1924. Today was probably the last shave on the current GEM SS blade using the Ever Ready 1924. The blade didn't tug or any nasty DE like habit, it just didn't cut quite as efficiently. So 2 and a half passes today for DFS. No blood or irritation but it was a bit like a car needing a tune up. Still very smooth but lacking the zip and power it had yesterday.
    Brush Omega Boar
    Soap - mine
Razor Ever Ready 1924 with [x9] GEM SS
    Face lathered.
If I'm game and only to see how the current GEM Personna SS perform I will try the current blade in my FW tomorrow for shave #10.

Another SUPER-BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR cold and beautiful shave. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap produced lather porn which felt like twenty below zero and I finally finished off my Rubby Dubby Doo bottle. Thank goodness I have a brand-new bottle which I received this past Monday. :)
