As I said, I want to dedicate this week to soaps and creams which I haven't used in a long time and I went with this Egyptian version of Palmolive Menthol cream. The lather is wonderful like all Palmolive creams, it gives excellent skincare with a frigid menthol blast like its Italian counterpart, but the scent is not to my liking. The 444/Barbon team are brrrrrr cold and beautiful. BBS again with so little effort. ;) :D

Back when I first started with adjustables, I followed the advice I give to folks new to adjustables - start at 3, complete your shave, evaluate. Next shave click it up one notch and repeat. Keep doing this until you hit that one notch that is just a tad too aggressive, back it off one and lock it down - there's your sweet spot.

For me, I leave it locked at 6; I've never taken it above 7.
Until today, that is. I opened it up to 9, took my time, paid attention to my pressure, and wound up with a BBS shave.

As for the Woods of Windsor, it's why I keep the KMF unscented around. Honestly it doesn't lather that great but I like the scent. A bit of KMF boosts the lather without robbing me of the nice smell of the WoW.

    b. PRE: Homemade PSO (slick!)
    c. SOAP: SuperLather Combo: Tabac soap & TOBS cream = luxurious!
    d. BRUSH: WD Silvertip 30mm

    f. SHAVE: Standard 3 passes, plus touch-up
    g. POST: Pinaud Clubman aftershave splash; Per de Provence balm sooth...

I have to admit, there's something I find appealing about the simplicity of the Techs: simple design, simple assembly, and just a great, forgiving shave.
The fact the handle is also nicely textured and fat in the hand are added bonuses. Very effective razor. Very nice shave! And the superlather combo makes for a terrific morning experience!

I used the same set up as I have on the last two days, but with the addition of my new alum and I changed out my Parker SRW in favor of the Parker SR1. Three pass, wtg/atg/xtg shave resulting in BBS skin and my first ever nick using a Disposable Blade Straight Razor! I managed to catch a mole while going across the grain, on the final pass. It was a tiny nick, but as moles are vascular it bled a lot. This mole is almost flush with my skin and I hardly notice it, so I wasn't as cautious as I should have been, but other than that it was an excellent shave.

Day 3 of face-lathering for "novelty week". What can I say, pure joy. The cheapo silvertip may help, but this may become a habit. The Tabac and Alt Innsbruck are also first timers for me. Great combination. Love the cooling effect of the Innsbruck. The scent seems to change subtly when applied (I seem to enjoy it even more on). And...Tabac. Of course, the lather just explodes even more than the MWF yesterday. Enjoying the new soaps!

Enjoy the rest of the day all!

This was a pretty rough shave due to the blades. I'm currently doing Russian blade month and these Schicks were the worst so far. My face feels like it's on fire.
