    NCoxSTL AAACK!

    Jolly Good June!

    June 24

    Razor - W.B. Speed Rabbit

    Soap - Proraso
    Brush - Vie Long 12601
Post - Cold rinse, Alum, The Veg

Happy Friday! Or Wednesday in my universe. And it started with Proraso and pony for a great lather. The Rabbit again performed very well off of the stropping I gave it last night. Smooth, and the Proraso was very slick today so no issues. I played around a bit on my neck trying some different strokes to try and achieve BBS in two passes but ended just shy of the baby. That's fine. No blood but the alum was pretty hot on my neck where I was playing around. I never thought I'd ever say I was "playing around my neck" with a deadly piece of steel. Amazing how it becomes routine and just a part of the morning. Now, lose concentration, and it could be a bloody morning.

I'll be skipping the straight tomorrow as I have an early meeting in the morning. Don't want to get up early enough to allow the time so I'll switch to a DE tomorrow. Hope you all have a good start to your weekend if you get those!

    Planned shave for Tomorrow:
Early start on the day my oldest son is getting married! Got to look sharp so picking a special razor I rarely take time to use. This vintage FW Engels is a gorgeous big-bladed beauty that feels silky-smooth. Pity I don't put it to use more often. Guess I've really only used it for those 'special' occasions- and tomorrow certainly qualifies!

    Razor- Gillette ranger tech
Brush - ever ready reknotted synthetic
Blade - Gillette thin blade / personna lab blue
    Soap - made by jimjo1031
Post shave - witch hazel, Nivea sensitive balm
    AS - citrus musk

    - I was excited for this shave for two reasons: 1st because of the ranger tech I just got and 2nd because of the soap I got from a PIF by @jimjo1031 . The soap was pretty good. It had some slickness and it lathered ok. The lather didn't disappear on me but it wasn't producing large volume either. The scent was great. The blade I initially used was a Gillette thin. But the blade felt like it had rough edge on it. So I switched to a personna blue. The shave went well!
    Happy shaving gents!

    jimjo1031 never bloomed myself

I also noticed when I use my soap, my synthetic brush, while producing lather, it wasn't as well as when using my badger brush, which was producing thicker lather. And also, like you, my Lab Blues worked better than other blades I tried. Will work on a different base, maybe goat's milk next time. oh, forgot this, my boar brush produced the most lather.

Well my intentions were good. I decided to do a full shave with my BB Revenge and yes, it lived up to its name. I had a spectacular nick on my chin...the Achilles Heel of my shaving life. :angry032: I bled quite a bit...who knew there were major arteries were in your chin.:angry019: The skull and crossbones on the scales seems quite appropriate this morning. Other than that...a great shave. No complaints. The nick is just another battle scar in this journey.

    Pre: MWF bloom water
    Razor: BB Revenge/GSB
    Soap: MWF
    Brush: Simpsons Special
Post: Aloe vera gel and Witch Hazel...for medicinal purposes of course.

Good morning friends. Wonderful shave this morning, three easy passes for a dolphin smooth finish. PAA 1K is one of my favorite soaps, the anise and licorice smell beautiful and the performance is outstanding! :love055: Have a great day guys. :)
