There's everything to love about the Glacial Obsidian soap and balm. The soap's black liquorice scent is so nice, it lathers so easily and slick, and its menthol effect is so biting-cold. The post-shave care cannot be beaten either. The matching balm has an equally cold menthol effect with the same great scent and it moisturizes and soothes freshly-shaven skin beautifully. The Arctique aftershave has a freezing sensation which is LETHAL. My shave couldn't be smoother or more enjoyable! :happy088: :happy088:

    Razor: Speedway circa 1920
    Blade: Super Maxx (6)
    Lather" Cremo
    Brush: No Brand
    Pre Shave Oil: Homemade
    A/S: Nivea Balm/Brut Splash On

Most of my face right now is Dolphin smooth, but not quite all the way with a 3 pass, WTG/WTG/ATG and XTG on 3rd pass. The razor I used has a tendency to clog, so I had to do thin wet layers. But I came out with an excellent shave and I love to feel all the parts that are REALLY smooth, wish the same for all.

    Bombed Soap Commander Endurance
H Boker&Co Our Unrivalled extra hollow ground spike
    Lustray Blue Spice
Very nice shave today. I bombed (3 drops) the endurance for a cool spiciness. Three passes with the recently honed Unrivalled, I was pretty happy with it. One pass just to check my work, almost nuthin to cut (just a bit on my right neck area). Otherwise smooth sailin. I finished with blue spice, I'm not old enough to say what product the blue spice was fashioned after, but I like it. It reminds me of my Papi Higgins. I always thought he was an old spice guy.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. I threw in a lather shot, just cuz @JRReyes likes them. 20160625_100943_resized.jpg 20160625_095812_resized.jpg

Razor: AlumiGoose 2 w/ Hempel Handle
    Blade: Feather Professional (6)
    Brush: Rubberset Aluminum 400 #3
Soap: Route 66 The Black Pearl
    A/S: Fine American Blend

Missed my shave yesterday, so this is my morning shave with yesterdays picture.
The Black Pearl whipped up into an excellent lather to prepare my beard for the AlumiGoose. No disappointment there. The 3 passes with a touchup did the job. The finish with Fine American Blend is perfect as usual. Have a good Saturday and a great weekend.

You mean the cross eyed dog? Good for you, we should always favor those that are challenged. The Cremo has a tendency to be a little thin, so you have to watch the amount of water, otherwise I got one of the better shaves I`ve had in a long time. Now, that`s for me, it might react differently with you. Best wishes for great shaves.

I have a 40-50`s Super speed that looks the same as yours but not even as close to pristine as yours, did you have it refinished or anything? If so where and how expensive? Thanks and best wishes.

I just added that my boar brush brought about the best lather. Forgot to mention that in the original post.

I did nothing special. I cleaned the razor deeply as a routine cleaning process I often do. First I clean the razor with soap and an old toothbrush then rinse it. Next, I keep the razor in a bottle filled with 4/3 water and 4/1 bleech for 10 minutes max. Later on, I rebrush the razor with washing machine detergent and toothpaste this time for five minutes. Finally, I use a piece of cloth and a tube of metal polish like "metylan" and keep rubbing till it shines. This process always works successfully in most rusty or dirty razors.
    Cheers, have a great day!
