This shave was planned for Saturday, but it did not occur. On Friday, I had an episode, and my wife ended up calling 911. My blood pressure hit about 200/100. I was taken to the hospital where eventually I got into a room at 3AM Saturday morning. So, no Saturday shave.

I had a head CT, EKG, MRI, Echo cardiogram, a ultrasound of my carotids, blood work and urinalysis. I got checked out every way possible. Good news is, They could not find anything out of the norm. I spent Saturday night and consulted with the neurologist today. I must say, they have been thorough. What it boiled down to was hypertensive encephalopathy. That is a mouth full that makes two days in the hospital sound more reasonable. The high blood pressure ended up causing weird feelings and confusion. I think this was coming on from Thursday and came to a head Friday afternoon. I could not describe what was going on and they initially thought maybe a stroke, TIA, or some form of seizure. All that was ruled out, but by Saturday afternoon, I was feeling more like myself. My blood pressure slowly came down and today it was back to my normal except the bottom number was still high.

I am home now and have showered and got clean clothes on. I have not shaved to day, and I may just wait until Monday. It is good to be home. I apologize for not checking in, but my phone is dumb, and my computer was at home where I could not access it. Again, it is great to be back.

The knot is original and must've been used a lot. It's almost as soft as a badger and whips up a nice and creamy lather. It's a keeper, well unless I get a nice offer on it anyway. But this is the thread on it's restore..............

Excellent photo Noire. The Ti Baby Smooth is a great razor and I like the color reflection from the flower.

Wow, glad you are feeling better. I hope things stay normal for you. I had a similar event the week before the 4th of July last year. I spent a week in the hospital and found out my red blood cell count was a third of normal! My heart was beating like crazy just to get oxygen to my body. I was very lucky to be in the hospital. The bummer was that they found out I had the onset of cirrhosis, probably from a fatty liver. They would have never detected it otherwise because I was showing no symptoms and my liver enzymes were normal. Anyways, I am back to normal, with a scarred liver, but it was a scare and I am more careful. You never know what tomorrow can bring.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Maggard MRG
    Blade: Rapira SS
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: Spiteful Soaps- Backstabber
Post: Soap Commander Courage balm, Stirling Baker Street EDT

Very nice afternoon shave. Spiteful Soaps aparently went out of business recently which is a shame since they perform great. Did a little baby chasing on this shave and as a result got a bit of irritation. The Courage balm felt soothing, and the Stirling Baker Street EDT smells wonderful, despite the fact that I usually don't care much for this particular scent. Hope everyone had amazing shaves!

I had a great shave today. I started out only wanting one quick pass since I was shaving in around noon instead of in the morning and wanted to reduce the chance of irritation with tomorrow morning's shave. BUT I just so happened to make 'the perfect lather' that was neither pasty, nor watery, but 'perfect'. I was even able to "fluff and paint" without any portion drying out with one of the passes because it was such a perfect consistency. The loading just happened to get just the right amount for a perfect multi-pass lather. I couldn't just do one pass. I did 3 passes instead. This picture doesn't do it true justice because I took the picture after I did one pass:
