Thank you, Gary! I do like the Mamba quite a bit. It is smooth and effortless for me. Being SS, it makes for a great travel razor.

    Just the Basics June!!

    June 20

    Razor - Gillette Tech
    Blade [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Tabac
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Since I skipped Tabac Tuesday I'll just call it Tabac Thursday. Time to get basic. How about a Tech with a Derby blade.....basic enough? I know what you're thinking....where in the world did the Czar find a Derby blade?! I surprise myself at what I find lurking in my stash at times. I remember Derby being the blade everyone loved to trash talk about when I started down this path. Funny how time, experience and TECHNIQUE change things.

The mild Tech and the not-so-sharp Derby - add three passes with the Tabac lather from the Silvertip badger and you get -------a very nice near-BBS finish. You also get quiet alum and a nice after shave feel. That's what basic shaving is all about.

35 hours to breakfast for those of you coming to town!! Let's get it ON!!!

Another travel / vacation shave with the Q-shave Futur Clone tonight and a smooth one at that. 2.5 passes and I am all ready for bed... I will thankfully be sleeping in tomorrow. Night all...

    Friday's Shave
    zcws.jpg

    Cold Water Rinse
    Amalfi Basil Lemon
    Jayaruh #367 Badger/Boar
    AutoStrop B1
    Valet AutoStrop (10)
    CWR
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #367 Badger/Boar brush. I did two passes with the AutoStrop B1 razor with a Valet AutoStrop blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
