    Menthol Monday:

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Wilkinson day 3
    Stirling Glacial Obsidian SS
    Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
    B&M Arctique AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel EdP
    Kisses from my lovely wife

In complete contrast to the approaching winter in South Africa the hot summer is coming here to Canada so I wanted to gear up for it with some of my coldest stuff - even the mentholated pre-shave soap from Stirling has more than enough menthol in it to put a good chill in it and it does such a great job of cleaning the skin and softening up the beard, it protects against dryness, and it adds so much slickness. The Glacial Obsidian soap’s black licorice scent is beautiful, the lather is so rich, mega slick as well as mega frigid, and the skincare is so wonderful. The Glacial Unscented balm felt so icy cold, not to mention how moisturizing and soothing it was, while the Arctique aftershave brought the freeze to another level and although it smells lovely the scent moves out of the way for the Bleu de Chanel which has become my favorite fragrance. Three passes got rid of my tough stubble and left me as smooth as a baby’s tukhis!

Have a great week - be safe and healthy!

That soap looks like a clone of Stoylin's Eucalyptus&Mint.

Shave of the Week starting 6/15/2020

    Rotbart #15 razor
    Gillette Nacet blade
    Plisson/L'Occitane brush
    Taconic Eucalyptus Mint SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Taconic Eucalyptus Mint A/S

All the parts are known to me and work well except for the Nacet blade. I know lots of people like them, I find them adequate. Still, the shave came out ok and my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

This lovely Wester Bros Manganese Steel razor is one I bought early on. It was shave ready and was a nice shave - until I got more experience and started paying for honing. Then it paled a little too much to get much use. It just came back from @gssixgun and back into good graces :happy088:

I have too many 5/8 and 11/16 straights and I wanted to give this one an equal shot at staying in the den when it comes time to clear a few out. :git:

    Hot water preparation
    Argan Oil PSO
    Romera Wengue Chubby Manchurian Badger
    AOS Lemon Shaving Cream
    Wester Bros. Manganese Steel 11/16
    Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel

Pre- Neutrogena Men Face Wash & warm water
    Razor- Merkur 34c
    Blade- Dorco (2)
    Soap- Proraso Red
    Brush- Surrey boar
    Bowl- Fine Accoutrements
    AS-Proraso Red
    Cologne- TOBS Sandalwood

2cd time using the Dorco blade and it was not as good as the 1st time with the GFT cream. I suspect that's due to me and Proraso Red croap just not getting along. While I love Proraso cream, I find the croap to produce a lather that is drying to my skin. There was no slickness at all, the complete opposite of Trumper's.

For shave #3 I'll go back to GFT or try my Proraso Green cream.

The TOBS Sandalwood cologne paired nicely (better than I expected) with the Proraso Red AS. The former is a more floral scent, and the latter is more woodsy, to my nose. They kind of come together as the best of both worlds.

For the warmer weather I've been skipping the Alum and Thayer's WH, and going right to AS. I find that my skin doesn't need the extra product like it does in the winter to counteract the dryness (although alum can be drying in the winter). I do keep the alum close by in case of a nick or any feeling of irritation.
