C&E lime is not really similar in aroma, I chose this one over my other two lime balms as I haven't used C&E in some time. I do not recall all the ingredients for C&E but there is lime, vetiver, ginger, and coriander with one or two other essential oils in the mix. So the only two ingredients in both are lime and coriander. I have to say, this was the first time using Sea Spice Lime and of my lime-based shave soaps/creams, I like the aroma of this one the best and overall shave quality I thought was better than Grooming Dept Lime, GFT lime, T&H West Indian Limes as well as the other limes in my den.

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with the Bunny B400 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Bunny V3 Injector Razor with the NOTSO comb and a Supply Black Label injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with English Leather AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

She more or less tolerates the AV Sport - at least she doesn’t say anything when I wear it but she absolutely hates the Ice Blue so what do I do? I say “Ah well” and I slap on some more!

How can I ignore this lovely Sharp Dressed Man soap for so long? What a shmuck I was because it’s such a magnificent soap. The scent is so gorgeous - if you enjoy Creed’s Green Irish Tweed then you’ll love this one, the tallow formula gives the lather such richness, slickness, as well as moisturizing, and the skincare is so brilliant like all of Rod’s soaps. The CutiBase moisturizer feels so good on my skin, and the Max Disinfecting aftershave from Bulgaria stings like hell for a second or two but then it feels so soothing. Finally, my favourite fragrance which is the Bleu de Chanel and I’m good to go. Another picture perfect BBS shave and tee off time is at 11:00 this morning - let’s hope I win this round!

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, JUNE 15, 2022

I own two Alexis Witte straight razors, both of which are excellent shavers. I’ve enjoyed my Witte Copperhead for several years, but the edge on this recently arrived Witte “Over the Top” is just a joy to shave with! Unlike many out there, I’m a big fan of skinny bladed straight razors, and not a fan of the meat cleavers seemingly so popular now. This little 9/16 sailed through the mug stubble effortlessly in three luxurious passes this morning leaving me glassine smooth.

The Star DE was The American Safety Razor Company’s answer to the Gillette Company’s ubiquitous Tech Safety Razor. Although I prefer SE’s, this little razor is a very efficient shaver, particularly when loaded with a Feather blade. With the the Traveling Wilbury’s “Handle with Care” playing in the background, I grabbed my little “Tech-killer” and cleared away my noggin stubble in two careful, ATG passes completing my morning shave with the expected neck to noggin velveteen smoothness.

RAZOR: A. Witte “Over the Top” 9/16 (Mug), Star DE (Dome)
BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: BG Custom Silvertip Badger
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Canoe Original EdT AS Splash.

Razor : Yaqi Flipside dual bar, Mfg 2020> excellent mid range with flip of 180 degrees you get a different aggression with less blade feel on the comb side(very enjoyable on the chin area for myself). Very affordable when on sale and takes a standard metric handle thread. No blade tab overhang. Yaqi just came out with their SS version today on their live sale. Excellent shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Astra SS(1)- Sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock XXX- nice clean unique scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi Artic sky 24mm silvertip Very nice face feel, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, nice gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi Flipside dual comb with a Astra SS blade.(very nice close comfortable shave this morning).
