Although I wasn’t here yesterday I still had a great shave with something I really LOVE. This morning I really enjoyed the Vintage Spice soap and aftershave - that beautiful Shulton Old Spice scent was ever present while I was lathering up and shaving and my skin felt great afterwards. The Cera Ve moisturizer is unscented so it’s terrific for sensitive skin, and the Vintage Spice aftershave was the cherry on top. Another most delightful three pass BBS shave that I have my dear brother Fernando to thank for!

Very well done all over. I was especially pleased to find that Cactus Nation looked better than it had in recent shaves. One pass. The Royal Copenhagen is great, but you must be careful at the pour spout, otherwise it's Niagra Falls, baby! It isn't as bad as Aqua Velva, though. Course AV is great too, but solving that pour spout is so tricky. Super Duper Outstanding.

 

It does just that. I'd put that as #2, behind Shulton and ahead of P&G.

Sunday shave, June 9th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm with a Yaqi Milano 316SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple blade clamping system and design. Small head parts are easier to assemble on a wash cloth for myself. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline (6) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : TOBS herbal Sandalwood cream, very nice fragrance IMO with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Black marble" 24mm Tuxedo knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum and sandalwood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper Sandalwood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi 50mm SE Yaqi Excalibur razor with a Schick proline.

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #450 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1905 Gillette Double Ring and the Nacet Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Great shave Guy!

Did you know that the Glacial Lavender scent was my idea? However it seemed to be a flop because I had a hard time getting it to lather and it didn’t seem to be as potently mentholated as the other Glacials. Wait until you see what I used today!

A lulu of a Grand Freeze this morning!

After using this setup I think my face will need all day to thaw out - my Lord, this Glacial Electric Sheep is a menthol atom bomb. Like the regular version of Electric Sheep it’s mutton tallow based with the same lovely citronella/lemony/eucalyptus scent, it gives brilliant lather with so much slickness, the menthol sensation is enough to knock down a horse, but the postshave feeling is so soothing and comfortable. The Stoffel balm from Bundubeard is incredibly moisturizing, I love its peppermint scent, and is it ever freezing cold. Finally the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on with its gorgeous old school barbershop scent and a terrific menthol punch. Three passes gave me one helluva great BBS shave that was sheer rapture!

Where to start?? First, the razor. I hoped it was a Gillette 7 O'clack one but, alas, it's not. For me, overly aggressive and unusable. Second, the brush. It's obviously an older fiber but it worked well and felt fine. Thirdly, the TSD Mystery SS. My nose is still slightly off from a bout with covid awhile back but, to me, not much scent. Can't place it but it's okie dokie. Lathers well and give fine protection. So what are my conclusions? Dump the razor and use all the rest as they are just fine. I rehomed 2 razors from the box so will switch to the EJ that should work great. Will find out tomorrow. Now go enjoy your day folks
