    TOBS Grapefruit
    Semogue 1800 Boar
    Gillette Old Type
    Voskhod
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

I am working my way through all my razors this year giving each razor its own week. Today I am using my Gillette Old Type for the first time this year. It is one of the most aggressive razors I have. The TOBS Grapefruit Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Semogue 1800 Boar brush. Two passes with my Gillette Old Type razor and a Voskhod blade gave me a very close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Planned Thursday SOTD
    [IMG]
    Merkur razor
    Parker black badger
    Myrsol Emulsion preshave
    TOBS Sandalwood shaving cream
    CC North aftershave
NZ Fusion Botanicals Australian Sandalwood solid fragrance

I decided to dust off and try my very first kit (shaving cream, razor and brush). I don't think I've tried this combo since I was bitten by Rad, Bad, Sad and the other disorders that affect wet shavers. The scent of the TOBS Sandalwood is fantastic.

World Tournament of Blades - Russia vs. the World!!
    June 24, 2015
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - VDH Boar
    Soap - Proraso
Razor - '59 Ball End Tech
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Post - Alum, Nivea Balm

Back to the good old USA for the Personna Lab Blue today. It gets its day on the field in an attempt to make the Final Four and face off with the Bic. It still has to beat the Turkish Derby so here we go. The short loft VDH Boar and Proraso Green is almost an idiot proof lather. Seriously, I could have done six passes from the one brush load. Can't blame the lather for anything today.

First pass and the Blue is still sharp on its second run in the tournament and still smooth as well. Nice feel and nice result on the pass. It did feel like a nick on the neck but after checking it was a false alarm. Lathered again and went XTG to good results. Still smooth and sharp. Neck needed some touch up for the DFS and it went just as smooth. Seemed like an absolute great shave. Nearly perfect.

Scoring - Sharpness - 1. Smoothness - 1. Irritation - hit the alum and did a double take. More burn than I expected. Lasted a bit longer than I thought as well. That has to be a 2. Result? DFS for a 2.

    Total - 6

Not a bad result, and just a hair worse than its first run. I scored the burn a 1.5 there so this blade may have shown just a bit of weakness on its second shave. We'll see how it holds up as we head to Turkey tomorrow!

After my last "meanwhile in America" picture I figured you'd suffered enough. And, in honor of the day after Father's Day I'll share this one with you. Hope all you Dads got this kind of love without the same result!

Prep: Hot Shower. Axe Shield Face Wash
    Razor: RazoRock Baby Smooth
    Blade: Personna Lab Blue
    Brush: Semogue 1305
    Lather: Dapper Dragon Unscented
Post: Alum. Thayers Cucumber WH. Gold Bond Ultimate
Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Black Powder
Repeat shave. This Dapper Dragon Unscented soap is excellent, truth be told I should be using unscented soaps due to sensitive skin. The RRBS is a nice shaver, the lab blue pars well with it. 1305 is starting to feel like a good brush. This setup could be my daily gear, more unscented soaps are coming.
A better tomorrow. Takes your best today!
