today's shave was nice. I'm very happy with this setup. form and function, scent and skincare all very nice. three passes, two open, against with the bar. finished with iced Florida water.

Nice easy shave
The New LC is a very forgiving but efficient razor. I had a nice shave with it today because I wanted to back off the closeness a bit. My HIS synthetic brush made exemplary lather from Rhapsody to set up my stubble for the NEW. I finished off this comfortable shave with Cologne Russe, one of my favorites. My face feels great and I smell great too.

One of the best shaves I've had. Absolutely no pressure using the SC Tech rewarded me with a smooth and irritation free shave. Dolomiti is top notch! Brush Alert The Semogue 1305 is breaking in wonderfully! Soft tips, nice backbone with a workable splay. I'm glad I've stuck with it. Shady Past is excellent. It's gonna be hot as heck today!

BBS with no issues. Blade felt as sharp as the last shave. I'm really starting to like this brand.

Tried the Chiseled Face Cinnawood Boroka. Not for me, I will likely put it in the travel box.

Post- Cold water rinse, Old spice original aftershave lotion and Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm + 1 drop of M-Bomb

I started out lathering DR Harris Arlington and added 3 drops of M-Bomb to make it a cold shave. I failed with the lather, I'm not sure why. But picked up my TSD iced lemongrass and before I could say "lather" I had enough menthol filled lather for 3 passes. Love the performance and scent of this soap.

I have had an unopened Old spice original AS for a while. Opened it and put it on the shelf, damn it's nice! Finished with Nivea with 1 drops for a little chill but not much =)

Be forewarned when you do decide to venture into the realm of SR shaving...
Guys seem to get the most from the experience by being 'all in' rather than simply dabbling on the periphery of the straight razor world. This is probably due to the amount of dedication SR shaving requires to achieve a level of competency. I like to use the analogy of learning to downhill ski when it comes to mastering SR shaving. If you ski only once or twice a year and choose to remain on the beginner bunny slopes, you may never get the feel of your skis nor enjoy the entirety of what skiing can offer. But if you make the decision to ski regularly and push /challenge yourself on the tougher runs, your technique will not only improve, but your competency and enjoyment of the activity will also grow.

Straight razor is definitely on my to-do list...I have been reading and watching videos...and admiring some of the nice straight razors on SOTD. I will take the plunge in the coming months for sure.
