Wednesday morning:

Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
Large Horsehair Barbershop
Super Speed/new Derby
Synergy Frost_byte SS
Gold Bond Moisturizer
Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash
Old Spice Cologne

Although the Glacial soaps are still colder, the Frost_byte is still bloody cold and should be classified as a hyper-mentholated soap. Its lather is so easy to whip up and when the freeze hits, it HITS. The skincare is pretty moisturizing and protective as well. A new Derby blade in my Super Speed will pave the way for a very close shave that the Gold Bond and Penguin will end with plenty of frigid comfort. I received a bottle of Shulton Old Spice cologne several years ago and I still have quite a bit of it left - to me there's a difference in scent from the P&G version on the market. I prefer the Shulton one.

Much better! I'm using this brush all week, maybe next? Maybe all of July as my @Bama Samurai Focus group?

 

That would be wise =) best way to break in a brush. How do you feel about bowl lathering

 

I'd rather face lather, but with this brush I tend to overload the brush. I need to figure it out. I'll use a bowl when needed...

The Cella Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Omega 11137 Boar brush. Two passes with my Gillette Black Handle SS razor and a Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Hump Day SOTD Wednesday, 6/24/15



Razor: 1957 Red Tip

Soap: Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic
AS: Barbasol Brisk/Pacific Rush mix

Still enjoying the Red Tip. I think this is my favorite Super Speed. It may be more aggressive than the standard, but it's not overly so. I think the reason I don't like the regular SS is that, because they are relatively mild, I tend to 'overwork' areas trying to get the shave I want. With the Red Tip I just shave and enjoy.

The Stirling Margaritas in the Arctic is fast becoming one of my favorite soaps. While I can get a good lather, it does take some 'elbow grease' like most Stirling soaps. But it's slick and the medium menthol cold really feels great.

The Lavender Rose shaving soap is a delight. This stuff is hard to describe beyond saying you to contact notes of lavender (obviously) and the earthiness of Sage. It's a beautiful combination. The performance of the soap is quintessential Stirling; extremely slick, dense, luxurious lather… It's a beautiful way to start the day.
