Chubby 2, Fatboy, Sunrise (1), Speick cream, Speick aftershave

It's hot in Portland today, so I went with a cold water shave for the first time and it was great. The Speick cream lathered differently with cold water, a little more slick it seemed, and the aftershave is a real winner. It has enough alcohol to give a nice "bite" when you first apply it, but it fades quickly and leaves your face feeling squeaky clean, dry and supple. It's a light citrus scent to me, hints of lemon but very mild and clean. I've noticed that the Sunrise blades really come alive after the first couple of swipes, it's almost as if there's a light coating of something that gives way to a wonderfully smooth cutting action. I even managed not to cut myself with the Fatboy! Speick-tacular!

I have a cousin who lives in Portland. I can't tell you the exact area, I just know it's where all the hippies hang out lol. Speaking of Speick, I have the cream but have never tried it. I don't really like the scent. I've had it for over a year and still haven't tried it. It's sad.

I'll trade you a used-twice tub of green Proraso for the Speick. . . can't have you feeling sad, now can we?

    Saturday evening:

    Razor: Feather Popular
    Blade: Feather
    Brush: Omega mixed midget
    Soap: RazoRock Brain Freeze
    Aftershave: Krampert's SubZero

Nice shave after a hot muggy day. Working in the heat in fire retardant coveralls sucks. SubZero is without a doubt the coldest product I have ever used.

I wish that were doable... my face breaks out really bad from green Proraso. I think I'm allergic to eucalyptus. Otherwise, I would be down.

Ahh, that's right, I think we talked about that before now that you mention it. Too bad you don't like the scent, it's a great cream and has the special extra-rare plant extract harvested by Alpine leprechauns in the dead of night. . .

    HBG Bay Rum

I knew I'd eventually find the sweet spot on this FatBoy, just didn't figure it to be 9. At least it was for this shave. The HBG Bay Rum is a very nice product. Found it at a somewhat local Whole Foods like store for about 8 bucks. Very light scent, spicy and rummy like it should be. Different than my Masters and VI so I don't feel like I'm being too redundant!

    • Prep: shower, RazoRock glycerine pre-shave soap
    • Razor: Weber DLC
    • Blade: Feather (1)
    • Brush: The BiG Shave LE #90/100 by Semogue
    • Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street Grapefruit sample
    • Post: alum, T.N. Dickinson's Witch hazel
    • Aftershave: Proraso lozione dopobarba
I've finished the sample of the grapefruit cream. It's a gream summer scent, very refreshing. I just hope the lather would be more stable as the other TOBS creams I have. I probably won't be getting a full tub.
The BiG shave brush by Semogue keeps impressing. It's a lather beast.

I come back from Florida on Thursday. I will muster up the strength to try it out. If I still don't like it, we'll start talking business.

    Sunday:

    #6 Horsehair
    Dovo Bismarck 5/8
Touchme SC (yes, that's the name - like touch me)
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
Mennen Skin Bracer AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

A very enjoyable shave as I always get when I use my Dovo Bismarck. Perhaps I spent a little less time doing it, but I still managed to achieve a great BBS. This Touchme cream is from Pakistan, of all places and it's used in many of the barbershops over there. It smells quite nice and lathers rich and thick, but the skincare is slightly below where I feel it should be. The Skin Bracer gave me that cooling slap which I love so much.

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

    Sunday

    Proraso Green Soap
    Vie Long 12603 horsehair
    Face lather
    E4 Fatboy set on 7
    Astra SP blade (2)
    Proraso aftershave

I got the TSD SOTQ in the mail yesterday, and was really tempted to try it, but since I was bumping the Fatboy up to 7 I kept the rest of the shave the same. The Fatboy did a fine job on 7.
